Unable To Receive Incoming Calls or Texts After Moving Number ot 1D

I’ve recently moved my number over from another provider to 1D.

The port of the number was supposed to have been completed on Monday, however, since then I’ve been unable to receive any incoming calls or texts.

Outgoing calls works fine.

I’ve been on with Live Chat but that was a complete waste of time and all I got in reply was a copy and paste of an FAQ.

There isn’t a number for customer services so I don’t know how I get this resolved.

I can’t say I’m overly impressed with 1D so far

Is your phone number showing correctly in settings? Have you turned the phone off/on again?

Yes, the number is showing correctly against the SIM in the phone settings, and yes the phone has been switched off several times, SIM removed etc

Are you able to make outgoing calls and what number appears on the persons phone you are calling. The new one or the one you want to keep? What phone do you have? What’s your postcode to check coverage/issues in your area.

Outgoing calls are fine.

The number that is having the issue is used by my son. If we calls me from his phone (Google Pixel 9) it shows up as him on my mobile, as the number that he has had for 3 years and the one that was moved over to 1D on Monday

My postcode is LS17 7HY

I can see the coverage is fine in your area. So are you saying other people can call you but your son can’t? What phone do you use?

No, that’s not what I’m saying.

The number that is having the issue is used by my son, but I’m the account holder.

The number was moved over from the old provider on Monday.

He is able to make outgoing calls from his number / device (Pixel 9).

If he tries to call me (different number, different provider) his number shows up on my mobile. So I know the outgoing calls from his device are coming from the number that was moved over on Monday.

If I try to call him from my mobile (different number, different provider) it fails with ‘Invalid Number’.

I’ve tried calling him for other devices as well and they all fail with the same error

Is he able to try his SIM card in another handset and then someone can try calling him so we can narrow it down to the phone or the network/SIM.

Hello @Hunter1978

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are very sorry to hear your son is experiencing an issue with people not being able to call.

I can see @MZone has ran through some checks with you, thank you @MZone.

If possible, can you please try the SIM in another handset? If the issue persists, we can arrange a replacement SIM.

Thanks,

Natalie

Hi Natalie,

I’ve tried the SIM in another device but that didn’t really prove anything as I couldn’t make or receive calls.

Is it possible for somebody to check that the number porting that took place on Monday has been fully processed?
