very poor data / internet- Exeter, Devon

I am still not sure as I have spoken to people. People started complaining about the robotic voice a few weeks ago.

I have tried all the resets and still no joy.

How do I get hold of a new SIM. I am guessing it will have another number?

I will check the phone in another area tonight.

Once activated by yourself, it’ll activate to your same, current phone number and contract.

Right...... Having now replaced the SIM card and seen no improvement. My two daughters have returned home and they are also on ID. Both of them have realised they have no signal when not connected to Wi-Fi. We can see 5G as a signal but it's not working. I am not sure what's going on but I will have to speak to someone that ID because we do not want to have contracts without a phone signal. I'm not sure if they've turned something off in the area that is now affecting us all??

Hi.

i have been having private messages with ID Support.. though no help. They keep stating there are no issues in this area. And seem to ignore this thread when I raise it.

been like this for me for 1-2 months now…

Crazy, I can't have a phone conversation on this network anymore. The only way I can talk to people is over WhatsApp!!! Let's see if I can get somewhere as I can't go on like this as it is not what is promised!

Unfortunately, neither signal nor service is guaranteed at any one location. You can have full bars of 5G at home for months, even years only then, to have no service and, sadly, it’s not a reason to exit a contract penalty-free.
 

However, if a mast has a fault (i.e. no data due to a fibre fault or outage), then the network should be escalating this internally. Otherwise, nothing would get fixed!

Agreed Welsh Paul....I just want the service I had in the first place. The help line have had me switching the networks etc and have managed to cut me off due to the trying to get on 4G. It is so frustrating and If my daughter's lived in Exeter they would be as frustrated as me as 2 days here have driven them mad. Something has changed in the last 2 to 3 weeks in the Heavitree Whipton Area and it has caused problems with the coverage.

This morning I seem to have 4G back again and reasonable download speeds. Thanks to everyone for the advice etc. I will test phone calls later but 4g internet seems to be back 😀

Well I don't know if it was a false dawn but we are back to a very poor signal in EX13JY again (robot voices all round). All our phones on the ID network are not working and have a very poor signal. Something has definitely changed in the last month or two as we never had a problem before. This will mean I have to find another service provider which is a shame as everything else has been fine. Unfortunately that is not sufficient to overcome the main point of the phone (phone calls). Whatever has changed in the last couple of months had an effect on a lot of people in Exeter by the looks of it.

I dream of robotic voice… I get nothing between Sweetbier lane (EX1 3AJ) and Polsloe Bridge, or over toward Heavitree Park.… slightly better the further away I get.

keep provide exact location details (via what3words) and defining the issues (no data), but no response.

Sorry to hear this, are you having the issues in EX1 3NW (and surrounding) specifically or everywhere?

 

The area of EX1 3NW is reported to have a known outage, which Three UK are working on.

I seem to be only having the problem around Heavitree and JLC.park but to be honest it is becoming painful now. How long is the work expected to take do we know?

On another note is everyone having poor calls when only on WiFi? It seems to effect WiFi calling as well as 4G calls with my wife complaining as well. It really does need some time scales adding as people cannot speak to me or the wife  unless they call via WhatsApp or Messenger which is not ideal in any way, shape or form. Is this because of the 3G switch off on 3 I wonder? Anyway we can get a timeframe from 3?

WiFi calling seems to be ok.

To be honest my ‘mobile’ is now landline as only works on WiFi

I’d like ID Support to provide info on how I cancel my contract - without paying any cancellation fees! I’ve got 6 months left out 24, but this is ridiculous 

First 16 months were great - now I’m paying for nothing.

Asked a couple of times but no response

Please do but it is not just me it is lots of people. I have now tried everything but understand it is some work 3 are doing. Without network my phone is now useless without WiFi at home. My wife is also suffering the same with an iPhone 13.

No data, voice service poor

Is Three network got bankrupted and stopped its services ?
