Hey there @Paw El Zet, sorry to hear this. What’s your full postcode and what phone do you have please?

Thanks,

First time I’ve had any data at EX1 3AJ for 2 months (see how long it last)… but a short walk to Ladysmith school and it’s dead

Hi everyone and I am not surprised to see a thread like this. It couldn't just be me. I am also a resident of Exeter in the Heavitree area (EX12TF) and I can confirm that the entire area from Heavitree park all the way to Ladysmith school and beyond is a dead zone with literally zero signal. I am an ID mobile customer for almost 3 years and it wasn't like this at all until 2-3 months ago. There is very little coverage  where I live, barely enough to take phone calls in the house without WiFi calling and minimal to non existent connection outside. Using speed test on the mobile network I never get more than 3MB/s download and 0.04 upload speed which hardly makes it 4G worthy and it's silly to even talk about 5G. I've tried all workarounds like cleaning my sim card, resetting network settings etc and nothing helps. My suspicion is this is caused by Three taking down their 3G network and 4G is too undeveloped to cover the area. I do not want to accuse ID and Three for false advertising but if that is the case it's serious. Nevertheless, my main issue is that I need to be able to take phone calls for work through mobile and if this continues I will be looking to at least switch providers. It makes me sad because I never had any issues with ID mobile and I really like their handset deals.

It’s the denial of any issue that is getting me. Consistently being asked to provide post codes and issue… in a constant loop of poor service (actual and customer)

Hi All, I spoke to someone at ID mobile this afternoon and as there is no time line for a fix for the lack of signal they are going to let me leave with no financial burden. As I understand it 3 have decommissioned a mast and a replacement is not in place and they have no time line.

I have been given a PAC code but they have said my wife and kids will have to have their cases reviewed individually.

I personally have found ID mobile superb over the contracts I have had and sorry that 3 have let the side down.

Hi GreenyExeter

thats a success. Still waiting on case to be reviewed… been 3 months now. Not sure how many more examples I can provide them.

how many months did you have remaining? I think I have 5 months to go, but as I’ve paid the last 3 months with no data available in Exeter - I’m hoping the contract can be voided and we all move on.

Hi GreenyExeter. Happy for you. Would you be able to share some more info about the Three decommissioned mast? Is it in Heavitree? Did you receive this info from ID mobile's support? I placed a complaint today with ID mobile as well. My son is on a Three PAYG plan ( which is on my name so technically I am on Three) and he is experiencing the exact same issues.

With regard to the mast I am not sure where it is but looking at the complaints I do believe it is in Heavitree. When I get to the top of Fore Street my signal springs back to life. I did go through some pain getting hold of people but used the agent chat to get this further along..ID subsequently phoned me 3 times to advise on progress. Shame they can't just fix it ☹️

I was contract to November I believe. Try the agent chat as I am sure that will get somewhere. Did they message you with an incident number?

I suspect poor signal because Rennes House is due to be knocked down and all signal antennas are disconnected.

Not only 3 / ID network has poor signal

I have sim from EE and it has a same issue, only 1 bar of signal

That would explain a lot. A shame they can't get something in place to replace it. Maybe if more people complain to 3 it may get resolved.....

I'm in Whipton, having the same issues.  Phone unusable unless using WhatsApp etc which is no use for calling companies.  I've been sent a new SIm which hasn't solved the problem.  I need to change providers but am in contract, presumably as I'm not getting the service this is possible.  How would I go about this?

I went through the agent online services and eventually spoke to someone who told me that 3 Cannot guarantee when the service will be corrected so I was free to leave and I would not have to pay anything further. I just wish 3 would confirm when they will sort it. Someone mentioned that there are masts on the top of Rennes house which have been decommissioned so now a significant area now has no signal. I would like to stay with them but not indefinitely not knowing when a fix will be in place. Good luck getting out of your contract....

I’ve not had any signal or phone calls for six months. I’ve tried all over Edinburgh and Aberdeen. I took out another contract with Lebara on Vodafone and everything is clear as a bell all the time. I raised a complaint and iD mobile said “we can see that you managed to make a call once so that proves our network works” and offered me £20 off to close the complaint and then disconnected the chat.

appalling.

They rang me to say there wasn't an issue, funnily enough there was with their call(s) so agreement reached over the contract.  Do you know if other providers had masts up there I can now change but don't want to have the same problem?

I think someone mentioned earlier that EE also had a mast on top of Rennes house. To be honest not sure but one thing I know is that O2 works as my work phone is fine. I might have to switch back to Giff Gaff but what a shame as everywhere else my phone works fine 😔 If ID could get clarification on the timeline from 3 it may make a difference to whether I stay.
