I can not receive a code from WhatsApp to login, when I try the phone call way, I get a call it then tells me to press a number to get the code then the call ends. I am using a iPhone XR and have just switched to ID from lebara porting my number also, I was able to use WhatsApp before moving to ID but I stopped using WhatsApp about 10 month ago and deleted the app, Now I need to use it again. Any help will be appreciated

Are you able to receive other OTP messages? (One time passcodes)
These could be for online banking, for signing into an account etc. This will help narrow down the issue.

I still could not receive a text to get the code but when I got the call I had too, Exit to the keypad for making calls and not the one in what’s app to be able to press the number needed to get the code

I’m having the same issue, when i enter my new mobile number to enable whatsapp to send me a verification code it just says unable to send sms and then locks me out for 7 hours!!

I don’t recall having to go through that process, but I have slept since having the phone and I could be wrong as all my other apps are set up and working fine including my banking app, paypal app etc

I had to use the “receive a call” option to get access to WhatsApp.
“Receive a text” would not work to get the OTP
When you get the call, Exit out of WhatsApp and use the keypad what you use to dial a number to select the number to receive your OTP
if you use the keypad in WhatsApp it won’t give you the code and the call will just end.

I’ve just selected the phone call option but no call yet ! Guess I’ll have to try the WhatsApp help like in your video ….. thanks for your messages and trying to help

if not it will say to wait so many minutes or hours to try again like the text option does
How long do you need to wait for the text timer to countdown?
when the timer resets, maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp and trying the phone call option again.
Another 7 hours ….. 12 for a call ….. luckily I’ve got 28 days left on my old number so I have time to resolve it …. Thanks for your help
Are you not porting your old number over to id?
I wouldn’t know how you would get a call or a text to your new number what I’d gave you if your old number is registered with WhatsApp
no, i’m changing number.. it asks for your old number, then your new number then has a meltdown and says it cannot send an sms to my new number, which by the way accepts messages from everyone else! not a great start to my ID Mobile life……. O2 is now looking not so bad!
Perhaps ask WhatsApp support why their mobile app cant send an SMS text message to your UK mobile number,
yeah, i’ve done that and got an automated message back saying refer to ID mobile but their response is to revert back to Whatsapp!!!
If you’ve setup your WhatsApp account to use two-step verification, perhaps this might be causing your issue
Have you previously added your email address for use with WhatsApp two-step verification? Maybe add this if not already enabled.

Hi, unfortunately nothing appears to be working, i get this message when requesting a call

I’ve currently got an ongoing whatsapp message with whatsapp support but they appear to be clueless
bit of an update…… whatsapp now say they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix!!!
