incorrect notification of data roaming

When in Cromer, Norfolk, I am being sent texts saying I may be on a ship or plane. Furthermore, additional charges will apply.

It’s always a good idea to disable roaming and set a bill cap to prevent you from roaming onto foreign networks when you’re not travelling.

Hi @Hart0707  I would advise to switch off roaming as @WelshPaul  has advised. While on the coast your handset may be trying to switch to roaming as it believes you’re at sea.

This article shows you how to do this - How can I reduce or avoid roaming charges? | iD Mobile Community

Hey there @run187, sorry to hear this. If you wish to leave us via PAC code and you’re still in cotnract, you would be charged the termination fee I’m afraid, as we wouldn’t grant an early, free release based on a 1-day call/text outage. If you wish to discuss compensation further, we’d be happy to drop you a PM.

Sorry jump in this post but i can firgure how else to get a pm ty as  the thread is locked

The idea of having data roaming whilst in the UK switched off makes no sense. That is what I am paying for. ID Mobile need to adjust their system to only notify once you are off UK soil

Hey tthere @Hart0707, thank you for your feedback. The charges/roaming is for connecting to the maritime/ships network, which isn’t included in UK allowances, and isn’t seen as UK roaming.

Thanks,

Tyler
