Is there a roaming spend cap that's different to your normal spend cap?

I have a spend cap of £5 on my account. I’ve just logged in and checked.

And yet i’ve gone to France, and received a text message from ID saying my spend cap is £45…

Why is this? Is there a separate ‘roaming spend cap’ ?

Do we have the option of buying bundles of 20GB or 30GB (to roam with) when we consume our data allowance?

Many Thanks

Conor

£45 is the default roaming cap imposed by Ofcom but if you have set a spend cap it overrides the roaming cap. You can currently use all your data allowance in a roam free destination as the 30GB limit is not been imposed yet. There are no separate add ons for roaming in roam free destination such as France.

What happens if I go over my monthly allowances?

If you use more than your standard UK allowances, you will incur the below out-of-plan charges.

Roaming Pay monthly Pay-as-you-go****
Calls to UK* £0.40 £0.40
Calls to France* £0.40 £0.40
Calls received* £0.00 £0.00

Texts to UK** £0.14 £0.14
Picture message (MMS) sent** £0.55 £0.05
Internet and Data (per MB)*** £0.10 £0.10

* Price per minute

** Please note: MMS charges vary. For further information, refer to Terms & Conditions. If you joined or upgraded on or before 20th June 2023 the MMS cost is £0.30 per message for Roaming within EU Bands 1 and 2.

*** Data is charged or deducted in one kilobyte (KB) increments and any part KB used will be rounded up to the nearest KB

**** The charges below will apply to all Pay-as-you-go customers starting from 1st October 2024. Find out more about the current charges here.
