I definitely like the time off, I really love the smell of a real christmas tree in the house, it just makes everything feel christmasy as well as having everyone over and making do with not enough plates, culterly or spaces to sit.
My favourite thing is to kick our celebrations off with the drive up to see family, car heater blazing, whilst my wife and I sing along to Christmas songs, knowing that there is a Baileys waiting for us on arrival!
Looking forward to seeing the faces of my two young grandchildren. They love the presents and the mystery of Father Christmas. The food abd drink and company is the next best thing
My favourite things about Christmas include, mulled wine, mince pies, stollen, pigs in blankets, snow (hopefully), long walks in the crisp sunny countryside (in shallowish snow if possible), Christmas lights and decorations, Christmas songs, and cuddling in front of a nice warm real flame fire with no other lights on! 😁
I love this time of year, the Sun starts it’s return towards us and, the days grow longer. The Christmas lights outside homes twinkling in the dark . The children getting excited and still believing in Santa. The cards through my letter box from friends and family from far and wide. Starry nights and frosty days. The Family gathering for exchange of love and gifts, the joy of friedships renewed and feasting on all sorts of things. Watching small children opening their presents is special but sadly lost when they grow older. Playing silly games with family and the odd sip of something bracing. Sincerely wishing for peace and love for all everywhere and hoping for better next year.
My favourite thing about the festive period in our home is the deliciously christmassy smell of the Christmas tree and the warm glow of the tree lights welcoming you back to the warm. And the endless Christmas songs they get ear worm stuck all day, every day, on repeat until the next song takes over. Yey
