You can use the SIM with a Mi-Fi router but it would depend if the SIM is compatible with it and vice versa.
Once you have the SIM it should work right away, however you may need to update the APN settings which can be found HERE.

As I am not particularly tech savvy, and this question was asked for information which doesn't involve an in depth search of the internet, I find this response of no help whatsoever.
