No delivery or update on Pixel 6 Pro Sorta Sunny (Yellow) pre-order has left me without a phone!

I ordered the ‘Sorta Yellow’ Pixel 6 pro since 21st with the expected delivery at the time being 28th. I received 2 emails, one  confirming the order and the other with this message: “Although the product you ordered is currently out of stock or on 'pre-order', we’re expecting it shortly, so it should be with you soon”. I have had no other update since and to make things worse, I’ve sold my phone on eBay expecting delivery for yesterday so I am now currently without a phone. Live chat have been entirely unhelpful first stating December delivery until I pointed out I ordered almost as soon as it was launched and subsequently promising an update, still nothing. I was told I cannot make an official complaint since I don’t have an account until I receive the device so now considering further actions.

Good luck, same situation with emails here and cancelled my previous contract so about to be without a phone also. I've been told they have no idea what happened only that their system didn't enter a date against my order due to an error. 

I've asked for an update and the best anyone has been able to do is to tell me to call back if I still don't receive the phone some time in December.

There's a few of us discussing this in this thread but after a vague statement about some December orders being bumped up to November CS seem to have stopped replying.

 

You can also make a formal complaint via voicemail by calling 0800 049 2402 and leaving a message but it states that they'll take a week to respond and that's probably even longer now with this fiasco.

The problem isn't ID Mobile, it's Google.

Google simply don't have enough stockto meet demand. A simple Google search shows its a widespread issue.

I seen this coming as Google haven't had any pixel 5 stock in almost a year and even the pixel 4 has been hard to find.

Yeah except the issue is with ID. ID have admitted to a systems error that meant some preorders were not assigned delivery dates in their system. 

 

I also contacted them twice after placing my order to confirm that I had got in on time and was assigned stock for release day. 

Both times they assured me that I would 100% have the phone on release day and that they were still within the number of units Google had supplied for the initial release wave.

People that ordered after me have also received the same model that I ordered due to this systems error that ID experienced.

Have you done any research? Clearly not!

ID Mobile may have had an internal issue where some customers received their pre-order when others who had ordered before them did not, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a stock shortage. Yes, stock should have been distributed on a first come, first serve basis but there was always going to be pre-orders that Google couldn’t fulfil and that is where we are at now.

All that being said, I can’t really come down too hard on Google as Samsung have had issues obtaining stock to. Anyway, I hope you all get your phones sooner rather than later. 🤞

I'm well aware of the ongoing silicone shortage, the supply chain and stock issues this is causing. 

You're omitting half of the story so you can get lost with your condescending attitude and white knighting. 

 

ID mobile took my preorder and gave me a cast iron guarantee that when my order was placed they had sufficient stock to provide me with my handset on release day and debited my payment from my account. 

Also relevant, at this point other retailers still also had stock available so I would have been able to source a replacement for release day if ID had said they were back ordered. 

ID then changed their stock status to backordered so I contacted them again to double check that I had been allocated stock for a release day delivery. They confirmed that I had been and would 100% get the phone on the 28th October. 

Based on the assurances from ID I cancelled my current phone contract with my old provider and arranged the sale of my current phone. 

Release day rolls around, I take the day off of work to be in for delivery. 

It gets late and still no email, I contact ID who tell me, don't worry, emails are delayed, it's out for delivery. 

The phone never shows up. 

I contact ID again who say they have no stock now and to wait until December and contact them again for an update. 

ID later admit that a systems error has affected my order which resulted in my order details not being correctly assigned a handset from their stock as it should have been. 

I ask ID for even a vague timeframe for delivery, their response is "don't know". 

I see that they have restocks due for delivery to others in November and December. I ask ID for clarification as to whether I'm likely to be included in either of those. They respond again "don't know". 

I ask what about the promotion that obviously drove a lot of their sales. They say go speak to Google and ask them for an exception, obviously everyone knows this is a waste of time and this should really be on ID to sort out their own mess. 

I point out that I'm now potentially going to be left without a phone which I need for work due to their mistakes. ID just say that's not their problem. 

 

So ID have caused this problem, and I understand others are in the same situation as me, and are doing absolutely nothing to clarify what's going on, take ownership of their mistakes or address the issues at all. 

 

They've got shipments coming that they know about but don't know whether they'll deign to allow me one of the phones I've paid for from those shipments or not. 

 

My latest "update" is simply, wait and see if I get a handset in December some time and if not then get back in touch and we'll look into things further then. 

 

But tell me more about how this is all on Google and me being unreasonable for expecting them to have been truthful with me or to even provide me any information whatsoever on my order.

I provided information that could help the OP as well as context from someone in a similar situation. 

 

You came in with your holier than thou attitude spouting nonsense and trying to say I hadn't done my research when you were clearly the one that didn't grasp the situation.

I don't work for ID Mobile and I'm not excusing their handling of your order. I'm providing a realistic view of the situation regarding stock levels across the board and in all likelihood (I hope I am wrong), it will be December before the majority of people receive their pixel devices.

Don't like it? Fine! I wouldn't either. Hopefully ID Mobile get your new pixels shipped out asap. 👍

ID mobile’s handling of the orders and customer complaints could have been a whole lot better. The excuse of stock shortages across board from google is all well and good. We are all aware of Google’s failings in that regard but iD’s handling is the issue here because we place orders expecting good communication and a first come first serve handling but that has not been the case. And condescension when people are upset definitely isn’t helpful. Live and let live!

Thanks for your concern. Strangely, I have now received mine. Got an email at  11:56pm Friday 29th saying I will receive it on Monday November 1st. Then another on the morning of Saturday 30th saying DPD will deliver it same day. And it was actually delivered later in the day. Checked to make sure everything is alright, and it is. So, all’s well that ends well. I guess. Good luck to everyone else still waiting for theirs.
