i’m unable to text or imessage anyone on O2 network

I’ve done all the self-help processes for iPhones and am still having issues. It’s an iPhone 16 on latest iOS.  It’s really annoying that I can text/imeggage some people but not others. I can receive texts without issue from all networks but cannot reply to O2 users or their virtual suppliers such as Sky. It appears to be a network conflict rather than a handset issue. Could you please investigate your end please?

Logged out of iCloud and used SMS. I’m unable to send ‘green’ SMS. I cannot select number, only emails. Again, I’ve followed all steps including those determined by AI. ChatGPT has concluded that I need ID mobile to confirm that my number is properly provisioned for SMS and iMessage activation, and that international SMS is allowed. I’ve had issues with certain numbers since I ported to I~D mobile a few years ago, and it’s exasperated with this recent iPhone change. I stick my husband's SIM in and everything works fine. How do I get help?

Hi @Chelle  welcome to the community! 👋

Sorry to hear you have had trouble with this. Please can you try following this article:

IThank you but still no joy im afraid!

’I’ve followed all steps in turn and awaited the obligatory 30 mins without SIM before re-inserting. Still no joy I’m afraid.

Step 6 - Reactivating iMessage and FaceTime was problematic as unable to select number, just got  ‘an error occurred on activation error’. On the FaceTime toggle on, then pressing ok on the error just repeated on a cycle where I had to crash out of settings. On signing in, my email appears ticked but unable to tick my mobile number.

Furthermore if I go to settings - Apple Account - Sign in & Security - my mobile number is displayed but with the caveat: Unavailable for imessage and FaceTime.

Please advise on how I get support to check that my SIM is provisioned correctly?

I’ve had problems since moving to ID. Initially no incoming calls and it took weeks for ID mobile to resolve as it was a porting issue. Messages were hit and miss as iMessage used emails. But now I’ve moved from iPhone X to iPhone 16, messages are worse than ever. I still believe there is something not stitched right from when I ported originally from 3 to ID. Please help!

Hi @Chelle

Okay, it might be worth contacting Apple directly as the article also suggests, as iMessage/Facetime is an Apple service.

So we can ensure everything on our side is where it should be, we’ll shortly send you a Private Message to your Community account, so we can discuss your issue further.

To access your messages, click your profile picture in the top right hand corner and then click ‘Private Messages’.

Alternatively, if you are currently logged in, you can use the following link: https://community.idmobile.co.uk/inbox/overview

We’ll see you there.
