Sometimes, when you switch networks, the temporary number that came with your new SIM remains in your phone settings. This should normally update itself to the correct number after restarting your phone, but if it doesn’t, follow these steps:

Step 1 - Essential checks.

  1. Check what date you selected for your switch.

Finding out when your switch will happen depends on how you purchased your iD Mobile Plan and when your PAC or STAC was given to us.

  • Switched at checkout? Your switching date can be found in your ‘Order Complete’ email or Contract Summary.

  • Switched after purchase? Check the SMS we sent to your iD Mobile SIM—it has all the info you need!

Please note: If you purchased your iD Mobile plan elsewhere, you would have been given an option to provide a PAC or STAC and select a switching date at checkout. If you have forgotten which date you selected, simply contact us.

  1. Confirm you’ve received your ‘Switch Complete’ SMS.

We’ll send a confirmation text to your iD Mobile SIM and an email to confirm your switch is complete. If you’ve not received this, your switch is still in progress, and your mobile number hasn’t ported over to your iD Mobile SIM. Don’t forget, your switch can happen as late as 10pm on the day you selected.

Step 2 - SIM/eSIM Troubleshooting.

If we’ve confirmed your switch is complete, you may have an old SIM card or eSIM profile from your previous network installed, which can cause your phone to show the wrong number when you call or text. Follow the steps relevant to your SIM type:

If you used a SIM card with your old network:

  1. Remove your SIM tray:

Before removing your SIM tray, turn your phone off completely. You’ll need a SIM ejector tool (often included in your phone’s box) or a small, unfolded paperclip.

Insert the tool into the small hole next to the tray to pop it open. Gently pull out the SIM tray.

  1. Check your SIM tray:

If you have an old SIM card from your previous network installed, remove it from the SIM tray.

  1. Reinsert your SIM tray:

If you’re using a Dual SIM device and an iD Mobile SIM card, it MUST be in SIM Slot 1.

Carefully slide the SIM tray back into the phone until it clicks securely into place. Turn your phone back on and check if the right number is showing when you make calls or texts.
