Question

setting pin for voicemail

When I call 123 it asks me to set up an PIN and to do that by calling us from your phone, which is what I thought I was doing. Where am I going wrong?

Please read my original question again. When I call  123. All I get is a message telling me to set up a PIN. It then says “to do this call us from your phone“. Which is what I have just done. How can I speak to a human being to discuss the problem?

OK @Sevlow  sorry for any confusion.

Here's how to set your voicemail PIN on iD:

    1. Dial 123 from your iD mobile or +44 7782 333 123 from any other phone.
    2. Listen to the prompts, and select the relevant options to change your voicemail PIN.
    3. Press 2, then press 1 to change your PIN.
    4. Re-enter your new voicemail PIN.

Please let us know how you get on.

This happened to me today too. It’s because I am on holiday and out of the country. If you haven’t set a voicemail pin before you leave, there is no way to listen to your voicemail without returning to the UK first.

It goes without saying that this is utterly pathetic, but I’ll say it anyway. Id mobile should be ashamed of themselves. I guess there had to be some drawbacks to a mobile service for £7 a month.

He wasn’t able to help. Their system is broken and pathetic. If you’re out of the country, you’ll need to return to the UK before you can access your voicemail. I have a formal complaint lodged.
