Question

Changing phone midway through contract

Manon Snikkers

I currently have a plan with ID, which includes a phone and data, texts and calls. My plan doesn't end until 26th of May 2023.

My current phone isn't working well for me. It's not damaged or anything, but the battery life is appalling, it takes ages to charge, it just doesn't work for me. Is there any way I can return this phone and have it replaced by something else?

Hey @Manon Snikkers, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We don’t offer early upgrades, unfortunately, but if you think the phone may be faulty (I know you said it’s not damaged, but the battery could still be faulty) then you can take it into your nearest Currys store for a diagnostic test. It sounds like you’re still in warranty, so if they do find an issue with the battery, they’ll be able to offer a warranty repair.

Other than that, your only real option would be to seek a private sale of your phone, then use that money to buy something more to your taste/needs.

Thank you,

Rory
