So that we can advise you further can you advise are you using the phone as a hotspot?

Is your data speed slow or do you get any error messages?

Yes as a hot spot

Data speed is fine (for streaming at least) but on trying to download a single 600MB file via SSH the connection instantly drops out

The same thing on broadband is fine no matter what the filesize so the problem isnt with the server - on the rare occasion that it does drop out it instantly reconnects and continues

Unfortunately we can’t advise much on this, however by the sounds of it, it may not be supported/restricted.

So is the offical line from ID Mobile is that there are restrictions/limitations on filesize and transfer protocol on their Unlimited PAYG SIMs?

Or do you not know?

We can’t advise on this as you are transferring via SSH, unfortunately we don’t have the information to hand regarding the transfer protocol.

Are you saying SSH is the problem?

If so what file transfer protocols are permitted on the IDMobile Unlimited PAYG SIM? 

FTP? SFTP? http?
