What are the different charges I might see on my Pay as you Go (PAYG) bill?

Your phone bill has a breakdown of everything you have been charged for. Here you can understand what the different types of charges are and how much they cost:

If you use your phone when you’re in the UK or one of our 50 Roam Free destinations, the following charges will apply for standard usage:
 

Non-geographic calls are made to numbers starting with 087, 084, 09, and 118. These calls are made up of two parts:

1. An Access Charge is the cost iD Mobile charges for making the call. The current Access Charge is 45p, plus 45p per minute.
2. A Service Charge is set by the organisation you're calling and is not related to iD Mobile. The organisation should provide details of this charge on their website or inform you before connecting the call.

MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) allows you to send and receive messages with pictures, photos, emojis, GIFs, videos, and sound clips.

Why did my text get sent as an MMS?

Your text message may automatically convert to MMS due to factors beyond iD Mobile’s control, such as your phone’s operating system and the recipient's device. This can happen for the following reasons:

• Your text includes a photograph, emoticon, GIF, video, or sound clip.

• Your text exceeds 160 characters.

• You send a text to an email address.

• You send a text to enter a competition or make a donation.

• You send a text with a subject line.

• You use iPhone Messages to send a text to a non-iPhone user.

Will I get charged for sending an MMS?

Yes. Messages are charged at 5p per MMS.

MMS messages have a size limit of 295kb per message. If your MMS image exceeds 295kb, you'll incur charges for multiple MMS messages. For example, sending an MMS image of 1mb would result in charges of 20p.

When you use your phone in one of our Roam Free destinations, your minutes, texts and data will be deducted  of your plan’s allowances. Call to numbers starting 0800 or 0808 are included in your inclusive minutes.

Shortcodes are shorter phone numbers, typically 4-6 digits, used by companies, charities, and premium rate services. While contacting some services via a shortcode is free, others may incur fees that can be costly. Use the Shortcode Lookup on our Out-of-Plan Charges page to check the cost of a text or call shortcode.

Some numbers starting with 07 are managed by third parties who connect or forward calls to another number. These calls cost 3p per minute.

Calls to numbers based in Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man cost 3p per minute.

Premium rate numbers are used for various services, including information and entertainment like TV voting, horoscopes, chat lines, recorded information, professional advice services (e.g computer support help lines), and directory enquiries. These calls are not covered by your inclusive minutes:
