My old iD contract expires next month and I've successfully ordered an upgrade phone (with esim) which is on its way.
I've found information here and in Help about getting this far, but not any further.
The sort of information I'm looking for is a simple guide to what I need to do when the phone is received.
The Welcome to iD email sent to me assumes I'm a new customer and the new phone will come with a new phone number. If I want to keep my old number I need to port it over and set up an iD account etc.
A specific Welcome to your iD Phone Upgrade email is required.
Without this information, I presume that the esim code will automatically transfer my existing number to the new phone as if I swapped a physical sim?
Regarding changes to the Plan in the app, do I need to “add new plan" or will it automatically update the existing plan?
Apologies if I've missed something.
Chris

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to move a number directly from one iD Mobile account to another iD Mobile account. iD Mobile require a PAC code from another network to move a number to an account.
In this case, you may be able to try the following triangle port method;
Get a PAC code for the number you wish to keep.
Purchase a Pay As You Go (PAYG) SIM from any OTHER network.
Give your PAC code to the new PAYG SIM provider to transfer your number from iD Mobile to the PAYG network.
Once it's been transferred over, this sends your number to the new network on PAYG and cancels your old contract with us automatically, the final bill will be sent via email.
Once the number has fully transferred to the PAYG network allow 24 hours and then request a PAC code from them.
Transfer your number to the new iD Mobile plan via PAC code at the link below, once the transfer is fully complete your PAYG SIM will be disconnected and the desired number will be on the new iD Mobile account.
Note; With a new iD Mobile account, you'll need to register a new iD Mobile app/website account to using an email address that hasn't been used previously to register.

Hey there @Brockis, as kindly advised by @WelshPaul, you cannot transfer your number from one contract to another on the same network I’m afraid. The only way to keep your number is via upgrading, or via a triangle port, following the great instructions sent above via @WelshPaul.
That's a lot of work for something that should be easy.
Tyler, you mention “the only way to keep your number is via upgrading...” which is what I thought I'd done? i.e. come to the end of my contract and upgraded the phone and taken up a new 24 month contract.
I guess all will become clear(er) when the phone package is received and opened..
Hey there @Brockis, if you upgraded via logging into your iD Mobile account, going to the “Upgrades” tab, and ordered an upgrade, then you’ll automatically keep your phone number, no problem.
If you ordered a new plan, and if you check your order confrimation and it doesn’t state “Upgrade” on there, then you’ll not be able to transfer your number directly to this plan I’m afraid, and will need to follow the steps outlined above if you wish to keep your number on the new plan.
