Find out everything you need to know about getting your phone repaired for damage or manufacturing faults, with iD Mobile.

Repairing your mobile phone

Your phone probably sees a lot of action, exposing it to all sorts of bumps and scratches. This is the sort of damage your insurance should be able to cover. However, sometimes manufacturing issues can arise, in which case, you can usually go directly to the manufacturer of your device for help.

If you’ve discovered a manufacturing fault (one not caused by accidental damage), and your device is still under warranty, you can get it repaired with the manufacturing company for free.

Can iD Mobile fix my device if purchased from iD Mobile?

If you purchased your phone with iD Mobile and it develops a fault within the first 30 days, we will sort you out with an exchange. Go to our Help and Support page to get in contact with us.

If your smartphone develops a fault after the first 30 days of purchase but is still within the warranty period, we’ll repair it for you through Carphone Warehouse within a Currys PC World store. You can find more information on how to get your handset repaired at the Carphone Warehouse Repair Page.

Please note that if your smartphone device has been damaged by a bump or exposure to liquid, but is still repairable, this will not be covered under the manufactures warranty and there will be a charge. To avoid any unwanted repair bills, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a good phone insurance plan.

What to do if you purchased your smartphone from another provider

Even if you’ve bought your phone through another provider such as Currys PC World, Nokia, Apple or any other, it can still be repaired at Carphone Warehouse stores. They repair most makes and models of smartphones, on all networks – even if it wasn’t bought from Carphone Warehouse.

Within the first 12 months, you are entitled to a warranty fix through Carphone Warehouse. This is only available for faulty handsets.

After 12 months, you may be entitled to a warranty fix through the manufacturer. Find out how long various manufacturers offer warranty fixes in the table below:

What to do if your handset is out of warranty

If your warranty has expired, or your issue wasn’t caused by a manufacturer’s fault (e.g., it was smashed or has water damage), then you’ll need to pay to get it repaired.

If you have insurance on your phone, you can contact your insurance provider to make a claim about any damage to your device.
