can't switch mobile data on

I have travelled to Rome and can't access my mobile data. International roaming is enabled in the id app but my phone won't let me turn on roaming. The option is greyed out.

Please note: If the Data Roaming switch is greyed out, check that Mobile data is activated. Go to Settings > Connections > Data usage > Mobile data.

 

It’s a Samsung android setting, did this work?

You activated the SIM before leaving, it was working fine in the UK before going to Rome right?

Have you tried switching the phone on / off? What phone is it, and operating system

Yes tried switching it on and off again. Been with id for about 3 months all working great in UK. Phone is a samsungs23fe.

I had the same problem, when i moved my sim to the new phone it wouldn't let me select data roaming, and then i realised i couldn't select anything on the mobile networks screen, Access Point names and Network Operators was also greyed out. However in my old phone it was fine.

Mine seems to be a problem with the dual sim card option. If I put my sim card in slot 1, iit doesnt show as registered but works fine except for the data roaming. So i downloaded an eSim from the app and that gave solved the data roaming issue but it said emergency calls only. So i’ve now disabled the eSim and put my sim into slot 2 and that works fine. So perhaps check your sim and see if the problem is with that? 

Live chat also only gave me very basic help, its a shame they can’t be a bit more supportive with these issues - at least suggest a few ideas!
