Cannot get roaming to work on ipad eSIM IN FRANCE

I cannot get roaming to work in EUROPE on my ipad eSIM. Done all suggestions and contacted web chat team and still not sorted. I have had nothing but agro since joining ID nothing functions as it should and it is extremely difficult to get help

Hi ​@Sue A  sorry to hear of the trouble you have had.

Is roaming working OK in your handset?

Unfortunately iD does not support the use of our SIM cards in tablets and other accessories, so the advice you have been given kindly already by ​@MZone  would be the best advice on this one to be honest.

You need to roam on either Societe Francaise Du Radiotelephone, Bouygues, Orange or Free Mobile as they are the roaming partners.

Follow the instructions for iPhone.

I had to delete my  original eSIM and load a plastic sim into another devise to be able to open an id account , then reupload a new eSIM to my ipad. The new eSIM works in the uk but the roaming doesnot work  abroad in france . I did a live chat yesterday but still not sorted .Done ALL the suggested checks does it have something to do with the plastic sim - do I have to get it cancelled ?

I am grasping at straws here, I am getting 4 bars of connectivity but no roaming in France . I am getting ready to leave ID if this cannot be resolved its been 2 weeks of hell

I had an eSIM for iPad had to delete to get a plastic sim to install into an other devise to enable the app . Then had to resend for a new eSIM  to reinstall into iPad could this be part of the problem ?

Is data roaming switched on it the iPad settings?

Failing that prob best to put the SIM into a mobile handset and use it as a hotspot to tether your iPad off it.

Yes roaming is on everywhere got 4 bars 3 G with Movistar but no internet . So device is receiving connection but no roaming internet. Could there be an issue with my eSIM registration ?

Try resetting the network settings on your iPad?

 

iPad Network Settings Reset

To reset the network settings on your iPad, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap on General.

  3. Tap on Transfer or Reset iPad at the bottom of the list.

  4. Select Reset.

  5. Choose Reset Network Settings.

  6. Enter your iPad's passcode when prompted.

  7. Confirm the reset, and your iPad will reboot. Once it restarts, the default network settings will be restored.

👆added to above all my roamings are switched on it is as if it’s turned off at the ID end , is roaming enabled on my account ?

This is an ongoing problem with esim and ipad. I have had 2 different esims and it still won't work. It is fine in France, occasionally ok in Belgium. Maybe 1 out of 3 visits there. I've had it work once in Germany. Nothing I have done solves this issue. I'm currently sat in a truck stop in Belgium with nothing to do as I've no signal at all. This is getting tedious. I just dont understand how it will work in certain countries but not in others. Belgium has never been a problem till about 4 weeks ago. Now it's rare it works. Had enough now.

Hey there ​@Tictoc, unfortunately, we don’t officially support the usage of our SIM cards inside iPad’s, or any unofficially supported devices. Therefore, we can only advise that it may or may not workin, but most likly won’t work I’m afraid.
