i need to make and receive calls in the US shortly, whats the best option, eSiM or Roaming Top Up

Hi, the package roaming charge for the US is clear, currently £5 per day. Does this charge include the cost for making and receiving calls, or are those charges on top of the daily £5 charge. If so it's a no brainer to ho eSIM. I am happy to pay the 5 per day premium if I can use my existing number to recieve calls. Please clarify when you can.
