I have full 5g and phone network in Spain but phone wont connect. It defaulted to moviestar network so manually tried orange and Vodafone. None of them work. My phone is essentially like a brick until I get to WiFi. Really frustrating. Can anyone help please?

Mystery Fix in Spain, New Headaches at Home.
So, in Spain, my phone just randomly decided to start working again a couple of hours after I'd been on live chat. No idea what actually fixed it! Now that I'm back in the UK, I keep getting this annoying message saying I'm "not registered on the ID Mobile network," and then my signal just drops out for a bit. It's happened like 6 or 7 times since the weekend, and honestly, I just don't have the energy to go through their support rigmarole again.
Dealing with Roaming Issues?
If you run into network problems with ID Mobile while you're abroad, here's what I learned:
>Who are the "partner networks" anyway? This is a huge point of confusion. Live chat will tell you one thing (like X and Y networks for Spain), but then you'll find tons of articles in their community forums saying completely different stuff. I never got a straight answer. I think I ended up on Orange, but Movistar definitely didn't work!
> Don't expect a quick fix. You can't just call someone. There are a bunch of manual steps you have to do first, so block out a good couple of hours for this, and grab a pen and paper!
>Live chat can be a loop. If the agent tells you to change a setting or restart your phone, which then cuts off your signal, guess what? You'll likely have to start a whole new conversation with a different agent. That means going through their app, community pages, chatbot, and then live chat all over again, just to explain what you were doing before you got cut off. It can be tedious and time-consuming.
> Their info might be out of date. The live chat agent I talked to was knowledgeable for sure, but some of the settings he told me to change on my Android 15 phone either didn't exist anymore or weren't where he said they'd be. When I challenged him, he got frustrated. I had to send screenshots and screen recordings to prove my point!
My Takeaway.
Honestly, trying to fix a network issue with ID Mobile feels like a coin toss. You might get it sorted, or you might not. You'll definitely need to set aside plenty of time to dig into the problem yourself, on top of using their chatbot and live chat. If you're stuck abroad and feeling a bit vulnerable, especially if it's late at night (like after a long flight trying to find your place), you're pretty much on your own.
