Roaming in USA and Caribean

I am travelling to the places above, I understand that you have to set up with a charge of £5 per day, are you charged for every day or only the days you use your phone?

Best answer by Tyler

Hey there @Borotosh, the add-ons are for the amount of days specified on them.

These cannot be spread out for usage amongst days you will or won’t use them. They’re simply for 5-days from the date you purchase it for example.

If you need assistance on which add on is best for you, please let us know and we can try advise.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hey there @Borotosh, thank you for reaching out.

Are you talking about our roam-beyond add-ons for data please, just to confirm?

If so, we can explain further from there.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi @Borotosh

I’d recommend the articles linked above by @andewhite.

A simple way to avoid any unwanted charges is to set your bill cap to £0.

Okay @Borotosh, if you buy an iD Mobile data add-on, the data is available for use up until the add-on expiry date - whether you use the data or not, is down to the customer.

This community article might help.

Maybe eSIM products at https://roamless.com would suit your needs for the USA and Caribbean.

If you purchase for 5 days is this 5 consecutive days from date of purchase or can the 5 days be spread across the 16 days of my holiday

I.e. I only use my allowance when I want to?

Okay @Borotosh, a 5-day iD data add-on would work for 5 consecutive days, and then expire - unfortunately, usage of a 5-day iD data add-on can’t be spreadover a 16-day period.

Thanks for that info, so do you think I can purchase an add on or other to do what I want?

Perhaps look into using an eSIM from https://roamless.com, @Borotosh

Hi @Borotosh

I believe we’ve advised what we can here, whilst roaming in a non-inclusive zone, you’ll be charged for what you use, not per day.
