Hi,

Iphone 14 pro, my roaming has never worked. Roaming is on in the app and phone, and network provider also tick off from automatic.

this is extremely frustrating to say the least, I travel all over Europe, Spain, Italy, Greece… never worked.

any suggestions that can change my world?!

thanks

Hi there @Erxema, welcome to Community!

We’re sorry to hear that. Have you tried resetting your network settings at all?

Is the issue only with data, or texts and calls also?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi @wgrussell  please can you follow the steps in this article and let us know how you get on - I'm abroad and Roaming is not working. What should I do? | iD Mobile Community

Are you able to manually search to connect to the same network your girlfriend has connected to?

I have had a similar problem being unable to receive data in France on 3 separate visits.  Telephoning is fine, but unable to connect to the internet despite going through all of your recommended procedures.  However, on entering Switzerland on this latest trip, with my iPhone 13 on standby, I failed to switch off roaming - why should I, it wasn’t working - only to find that in 2 hours, my iPhone had received £25 worth of data.  On returning to France, no internet connection was available.  How can I ensure I get data roaming when I next visit France in September without changing to another network?

Hi @SGJ  I am sorry to hear of the trouble you have had with your roaming. I would say that rather than being an iD issue, it sounds like it may have been an issue with the French networks your phone had tried to connect to. Had you tried manually searching for the networks in France?

If you had a connection in Switzerland, then it shows your roaming was on correctly.

I agree, roaming appears to be working. However, I tried all 4, maybe 5, French networks manually, all with the same result - no internet connection.

Hi @Sunbul Othman.

Sorry to hear about this.

Have you tested your SIM in their handset? If the SIM works fine it will be the settings on your handset.

If you are still abroad we can PM you to troubleshoot the issue.

Yet again I have had the problem in France.  All networks that I have tried have been either 3G or 4G.  On entering Luxembourg, my iPhone 13 initially logged on to a 4G network - still no data.  The phone then switched to a 5G network and ‘hey presto’, all was fine, full data available.  On going back into France, 4G, no data.  In UK, 3G and 4G are not an issue, but it appears to be so with the French networks.

Hi @SGJ

I’m sorry to hear that, I’m unsure what would cause this to happen with the French networks specifically beyond those French networks having their own local issues which we’d have little to no control over.

Continuing the saga.  I have recently returned from another trip to the EU.  In France, the iD Mobile sim would connect with several of the French networks, but only giving 3G and no data, in particular on Orange F.  However, my Swiss e-sim (Digital Republic) connected at the same time to Orange F giving 5G and full data.  Same network, but 5G with data versus 3G without, Please explain.  I think it is time to change UK network.

Hi @SGJ

We do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Could you confirm where in France you were located?

As thing could play a big role in your network issues and reason for the network being bad.

The problem existed throughout my time in France over a period of 6 days, travelling from the Swiss border at Jougne up to the coast at Calais, via Chèzy-sur-Marne to the east of Paris.  Throughout this time, my Digital Republic e-sim functioned perfectly.
