Sometimes when you switch your number, the temporary mobile number that came with your new SIM remains in your phone settings. This should normally update itself to the correct number after restarting your phone, but if it doesn’t, follow these steps:

Sometimes, your iPhone might not have the correct mobile number saved. Don’t worry! Follow the steps below to check and update it if needed:
- Open ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Phone’.
- Tap ‘My Number’.
- Enter your mobile number, using +44 instead of the first 0.
- Tap ‘Save’.
Please note: If you can’t enter the correct number, go to: ‘Settings’ > ‘Apple ID’ > ‘Sign-In & Security’ > ‘Email & Phone Numbers’. Tap 'Add email or phone number' and enter the correct number.
As a last resort, you can perform a Network Settings Reset on your iPhone:
- Open ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘General’.
- Tap ‘Transfer or Reset iPhone’.
- Tap ‘Reset’.
- Select ‘Reset Network Settings’.
- Enter your passcode, then tap ‘Reset Network Settings’.
Please note: Resetting network settings will erase saved Wi-Fi networks and VPN settings. After the reset, you will need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords and configure any other network settings as needed.

First of all, try updating the number in your phone settings. To do this, just follow these simple steps:
- Open ‘Messages’.
- Select ‘Advanced’.
- Select ‘Phone Number’.
- Update the number.
If this doesn’t work, then you need to check what number is stored in your Samsung profile by following these steps:
- Open ‘Messages’.
- Select ‘My Profile’.
- Select ‘Profile Sharing’.
- Check what number is stored under ‘Registered Device’.
- If the wrong number is stored, turn the chat off and back on again.
Still having issues? Try clearing the cache of the ‘Samsung Messages’ app. Here’s how:
- Open ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Apps’.
- Tap ‘Samsung Messages’.
- Tap ‘Storage’
- Tap ‘Clear Cache’.
As a last resort, you can perform a Network Settings Reset on your phone:
- Open ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘General management’.
- Tap ‘Reset’.
- Select ‘Reset Network Settings’.

If Google Messages doesn't show the number you’re expecting, please try the following steps to resolve the issue:
- Open Messages.
- Tap ‘More Options’.
- Tap ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘RCS chats’.
- Turn off RCS chats.
Alternatively, use the Google Messages deactivation web portal to turn off RCS chats.
- Restart your phone.
- Re-enable Google Chat by following the same steps as step 1 but toggling Chat Features to ON.

WhatsApp is showing the incorrect number. What should I do?
You need to update the number in the WhatsApp settings. To do this, just follow these simple steps:
- Open ‘Settings’ in WhatsApp.
- Select ‘Account’.
- Select ‘Change Number’.
- In the first field, type in the number you want to change, and in the second field, type in your correct number.
- Select ‘Next’.
- Select ‘Done’.
