I lost my phone on Monday evening, I tracked it to an address not far from where I lost it, but the man denied it was there, I have disabled on phone finder so if it turned on the data will be erased. I have got a replacement sim to use in my old phone. Is there anything else I need to do, are you able to do anything for me on the payment plan.

Kind Regards

Elaine Hatcher

ps I’m having trouble with the app it’s not loading

Hi @Elaine Hatcher

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the community.

We are very sorry to hear this has happened, we appreciate it must be frustrating.

Can you confirm if the handset has now been blacklisted?

Payments for the handset would continue as normal but if you have insurance, you may be able to make a claim through them.

Hi there @Elaine Hatcher

If your phone is lost/stolen and you report it to iD they can blacklist the phone and this, using the IMEI of the device, prevents the phone from being used by anybody else, even when they try a different SIM.

Probably too late now but if you’d contacted the police prior to going to the address they may have gone for you and maybe (if he was lying) got the phone back for you - saying that not all police forces are so willing to put time into this.

As Nat advised if the phone is currently being purchased via iD on a 12/24 Month contract then you’re still liable to pay off the phone (unless you have insurance on the device and if you do you need to report it as they will require proof of blacklisting and proof of usage)

Hi @Elaine Hatcher

Thanks for getting back to us.

For peace of mind, we can take a look at the account and check if the handset is blacklisted for you.

The quickest way to do this would be via Live Chat here but if you have any issues, let us know and we can pop you over a private message.

Thanks,

Nat
