referral

Hi I referred a friend to ID mobile, I was sent the link to which it was registered as I got an email to confirm this, after it was reviewed I was sent an email to say I didn't meet the criteria, the reasons for rejection did not relate to anything about my referral so me and my friend did  not receive the reward. I emailed the company who rejected me but they have not replied and this was over 2 weeks ago now.

Hi there @Darrellsedgwick89

So they didn’t state anything like this on their confirmation email?

To qualify for the Refer a Friend cashback:

  • your referred friend must make a purchase on idmobile.co.uk using your referral link.

Or state any of the following for their reason to refuse on the 2nd email?

The refusal for the Refer a Friend cashback was due to:

  • making a purchase through idmobile.co.uk (without using a referral link) as this will not qualify for the Refer a Friend scheme
  • using affiliate partners (such as comparison, cashback or voucher sites), Carphone Warehouse, Currys, Mobiles.co.uk or e2save.co.uk as none of them qualify for their Refer a Friend scheme.

And your friend purchased one of these:

Plan type: Total Cashback:
iPhone 15 Pro Max plan (£58.99 a month + £99 upfront cost). £70 £140 (£70 each)
iPhone 16 Family £50 (£25 each)
Any Pay monthly phone plan. £40 (£20 each)
Any SIM only plan (£15 a month and above). £35 (£17.5 each)
Any SIM only plan (Up to £14.99 a month). £15 (£7.5 each)

I would also expect iD to state something like this in any reply - Our Refer a Friend scheme is powered by Aklamio, who handle all customer enquiries. If you need help, you can reach them via email at customer-service@aklamio.com - which I guess you’ve done already?

And can see it takes around 14 weeks for confirmation.

Hi

Yes I recieved the emailing stating the information you have provided in your reply, none of that applied to me, I referred a friend who took out a hand set and a monthly plan to which they have paid 2 months bills already. I got an email from the 3rd party organisation to state "after reviewing my referral they say Indonesia qaulify for £15 reward" they sent me then information you have stated to the reasons why I have been rejected. After reading the reasons why I may have been rejected none of them apply to me.

Okay. So just to clarify:

  1. You friend bought a phone directly from iD Mobile and used the referral link
  2. They didn’t buy it through a comparison site, a cashback site or a voucher site - Such as  Carphone Warehouse, Currys, Mobiles.co.uk or e2save.co.uk ?
  3. And they purchased one of the above deals?

If number 1 is yes they went direct to iD and number 2 is no, as in they didn’t got through any of those sites, and number 3 is yes too, the only things to suggest is to either wait until a member of staff on here reads this thread, or you try contacting the 3rd party again stating your friend bought it directly from iD and bought one of those deals, or even try iD’s live chat so they can investigate why number 1 and/or 3 didn’t qualify.

Hi Daz,

Thanks for replying, That is correct the purchase was done through a referral on ID mobile website using the referral link I was provided with, my friend purchased the same handset as me on a 24month contract for £29.99 a month. Me and my friend received an email to say we would both get £15 once my friend has paid 2 months bills. My friend has paid 3 months bills now as we speak, I received an email from the 3rd party company saying after review we do not qualify for the referral bonus. It's a shambles as I have not received an email back from them as I have questioned there decision with it been incorrect.

Kind regards

Darrell.

Hi Daz,

Thanks for replying,

Honestly not a problem Darrell (@Darrellsedgwick89)

That is correct the purchase was done through a referral on ID mobile website using the referral link I was provided with, my friend purchased the same handset as me on a 24month contract for £29.99 a month.

So you should therefore qualify. Your mate bought a Pay Monthly Phone Plan and you both should have gotten £20 each.

Me and my friend received an email to say we would both get £15 once my friend has paid 2 months bills.

This might be where the system might have fell over itself. You should get £20, not £15 (look at the chart I posted).

My friend has paid 3 months bills now as we speak, I received an email from the 3rd party company saying after review we do not qualify for the referral bonus.

I can’t see any reason (apart from this £5 discrepancy between £15 and £20) why you don’t qualify

It's a shambles as I have not received an email back from them as I have questioned there decision with it been incorrect.

I have to agree!

(@Tom is this something you guys can look into - from what I see they should have been given the referral deal)

Hey there @Darrellsedgwick89, thank you for reaching out.

From the email you received stating you/your friend wasn’t eligible for the referral rewards, what were the reasons given to confirm please?

Thanks,

Tyler

@Tyler

Hi Tyler,

If you can take a look at the email I recieved, it doesn't state much tbh. What they have stated does not apply to me as the contracts were not cancelled, the link was only used for my friends purchase and we both pay for handsets and tariffs using direct debits which are paid by the bank in pounds sterling lol.

Regards,

Darrell.

What a load of balloons (I think you know what I was thinking)

  1. Cancellation - nope didn’t cancel
  2. Voucher - I see no reference to you saying you used another voucher
  3. Currency - ah yes chocolate coins/buttons are not accepted
  4. Last cookie - we never have a last cookie here as I eat ‘em all. But surely this isn’t their excuse. And if it is I can honestly say I will never refer anyone to iD using a link that tracks me all over the ruddy internet. I truly hate these nosey tracking things.
  5. Some other reason (check portal) - they need to get their head out of their portal me thinks

And the last screenshot - share your link with family and friends - are they really taking the urine or what.

I’m genuinely baffled😵

Hi, @IDSupport

I got referred by darrell Sedgwick using the referral link that he sent me. I was asked by darrell to comment on this question thread about my £15 referral fee that I would get . I received an email saying i would receive it after paying a phone bill and then I received an email saying I wasn't going to receive it.

Hi there @Becca93

I’m assuming Darrell got his sorted via private message with iD? If he did you must be able to too 🤞
