I am considering going to e-SIM and the blurb says 2 numbers but does not say whether they are both free or that you have to buy them.
I would like to keep my original number and add another one if possible.

An eSIM or SIM card can only be associated with one mobile number,
If your phone is dual SIM capable, then you can use two numbers, assuming you have a separate plan for each active SIM.
