Hi, I've been I'd sim only customer with yourself last 9 yrs out of contract. I wanted to go with mobile.co.uk to take out unlimited usage for another 2yrs but will I be able to keep my existing number, it says on they're website to click here for existing customer sim upgrades so will my phone number be retained. Because what I've read is if I go with anyone else other than upgrading through this site that I will loose my number, and they're saying I would have to go to another network for a month then come back to I'd with a different email address to keep my existing number and set it back up again. Seems so confusing just to keep my existing number with the same network. Thanks

As long as you have selected the upgrade option @Mark47  then you will be upgrading your plan with iD and will retain your number.

Hi @Mark47  I am glad to hear that you are looking to stay with iD!

If you are wanting to keep your number, you would need to look at upgrade deal.

You can find out more here - How do I upgrade my phone? | iD Mobile Community

If you purchase a new contract, you will be allocated a new number. We aren’t just able to swap the numbers over iD to iD, so you would effectively have two iD plans.

You can complete something called a triangular port, but that is entirely up to you. This is where you would port your current iD number to a different network PAYG SIM, and the port it back into iD on your new plan.

I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions, please let us know.

On the mobile.co.uk website it does say ID sim only upgrade to retain my number, I've gone through a check your contract and it says I can upgrade, I've been out of contract plan for ages and it does ask for my phone number that I want retained just wondering if it'll work this way as I want to get 2yr deal but don't want a new number. Just wanted to confirm it'll work this way without any hassle, as it's such a big saving than going direct. Attached some pics so you can see what I mean. Thanks again
