mobile hot spot sim card

Hi

I currently have a MIFI mobile hot spot with 3, for use on my narrowboat. The contract is coming to an end, can I simply replace the data SIM with an ID mobile one? I can't see any reason why not, but wondered if others had done the same and had issues?

Regards

Jeff

Just to add my bit.

iDM don’t officially support their SIMs in routers, they only support compatible mobile phones. But that doesn’t mean it won’t work and what you’d need to do once you move to iD is insert that SIM into a phone to set up the account and app. Then once the online account and app are working you should then be able to pop that SIM into the router.

I wasn’t aware iDM did a data only SIM but yes you can use one of their unlimited calls and text deals with how much data you need.

They've currently got an unlimited everything SIMO on a 24month deal for £16per month.

Hi @svanr1967

Thanks for getting in touch.

To confirm, are you looking to change your current MiFi plan or cancel and apply for a plan with calls/text/data included?

Thanks,

Hi, I'm looking to leave 3 altogether when the contract expires next week, and preferably have a data only SIM for the same MiFi unit- with ID mobile as it's loads cheaper. I'm not too sure if ID have a data only plan, so the question is can I do a straightforward SIM swop from 3 data only to a multi function ID mobile SIM- and only use the data bit.

Hi

My ID SIM is unlimited mins & text plus 40G for £7 per month.

I do recall they have a data-only SIM.

Thanks Daz, that's a great. I'm already an oDM customer for our mobiles, so it'll be easy to add another to the account.

Thank you.

No problem Jeff, happy to help.

This is up to you but being as you’re already with them you could try giving their dedicated sales number a call 0207 139 1397 (during normal business hours) and mention your other accounts. You might just get that SIM at a loyalty discount (just don’t mention the router😏)
