Number issue

I transferred my number using a PAC code when I joined ID last month but now it's reverting to the new number I got from ID mobile.

Make sure your phone number is showing correctly in the settings.

For others who may be experiencing similar issues, we would recommend taking the following steps.

1) Open Messages, go to Settings (top right, Message Settings), open "Chat Features" or "RCS Chats", verify if this is the correct number or not.

2) If it shows the incorrect one, then head to: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and you should be able to unregister the number. Once done, turn off the Chat Features/RCS and the phone. Wait a few minutes and turn the device back on and re-enable Chat Features/RCS it should let you re-register/update to the correct number.

Alternatively, you can turn Chat Features/RCS off and test SMS after this.

I’ve got same problem on iPhone. Do you have any suggestions for that? Thanks.

Sadly this hasn’t worked, It just keeps verifying the wrong number.

I can’t get it to work it just keeps verifing the wrong number, I was reading another thread where the solution was a new blank SIM. Do I need a new SIM?

It’s worth trying a replacement SIM, @Kierenm94

This community article should help.

Hey there @Kierenm94 and @Sba2, sorry to hear that.

Have you both tried resetting network settings, after trying the above advice from both @MZone & @andewhite?

Thanks,

Tyler
