A year ago I purchased a Pixel 8, and am half way through the contract. Just recently however, the display started to malfunction, developing a long vertical line across the entire display. This is a known Pixel 8 issue.
Who should I get in touch with regarding this issue? The phone has been working fine up until now. Should I contact, carphonewarehouse, google or Idmobile?

I think the quickest method would be to book it in for repair with Google.

You can, of course, call in to your local Curry's store and have them take a look at your device and, if eligible, have it sent in for repair.
