SIM activation

I've received my new phone, it should have had a esim qr code but that didn't arrive, I was advised to go into Currys and pick up a physical SIM. I have but now I've no idea how to activate the SIM as I've no number for the SIM

    An eSIM would be sent via email but this can sometimes drop in to junk/spam folders. 

    Have you been able to get your new physical SIM activated?
