Currys gift card not received.

I took out a contract at the start of December which came with a free £100 Curry’s gift card. I did not received it along with my phone as was expected and as it had said in my contract.

I posted this on the ID community and was advised that it would be emailed to me after 2 weeks had passed. I was advised that the reason they no longer send the gift cards out with the phones is because people were taking out contracts spending the gift cards and then cancelling the contract within the 14 day calling of period.

It has now been a month since I took out my contract and have still not received my gift card. Can somebody please advise.

Hi Sharon.

You aren't the only one, pretty much everyone here has not received their vouchers yet, including myself. iD have an official response you can read below. The gist of it is that they're claiming they couldn't keep up with the influx of customers and they will be delaying the vouchers till the 14th. (Originally the delay with the 8th, then the 13th). Not particularly hopeful they'll honour the date after how much they've been messing around, but here's the link to the update for you.

So far, we've all been clearly misled which is a blatant breach of the Consumer Rights Act. I will be complaining to Trading Standards next week if I don't receive my voucher.

Hey Sharon,

Which iPhone did you purchase?

The delays for the gift cards the other users are referring to are for Pixel 7 purchases.

If you can confirm your:

Full make & model of the handset and the tariff you purchased I’ll check this.

Your deal appears to be a moneysavingexpert.com exclusive.

The terms & conditions on this site should’ve explained how to get the associated gift card.

Have you got any emails relating to this online purchase @Sharon Louise Patrick? One of these might explain how to get the gift card.

Hi, yes it was through the money saving expert site.

I did receive numerous emails. So the details would have been on the money saving experts site or in the emails?

Typically moneysavingexpert.com gifts are from a third party, not the mobile network operator.

Hopefully you’ll have a message somewhere amongst the numerous emails received.

Hi Ande,

Thats what I thought so I can’t see how they would be responsible for supplying me with the gift card.

Ive looked at my contract but nothing on there to advise me how to redeem it. I shall keep looking!

I’d contact Money Saving Experts for some further info.

We did have a Gift Card offer for Christmas which applied to eligible purchases made betweeen 30th November 2022 - 22nd December 2022.

There was an iPhone 13 Mini but this was only applicable to the following tariffs:

£40.99
100GB
Unlimited
Unlimited
Unlimited
£0
£0

£50
£100

 

Neither of which are shown in the above screenshot you sent.

The £100.00 gift card only applied to the £40.99 tariff as above.

If it was a gift card offered from them directly, I’d contact them.

If they have miss-advertised the offer, it wouldn’t be something we can assist with.

So if it was not applicable to my phone tariff why is it showing on the screen shot I sent you?

There seems to be a lot of misinformation.

I feel a trip to the ombudsman coming on after contacting Money Saving Expert customer service..

The screenshot shown is from Money Saving Expert’s website, I wouldn’t be sure why it’d show a £100 gift card on that tariff unless it’s a promotion they’re running.

 

I’d recommend contacting them about this.

I know you posted this ages ago but we haven't received our gift cards after 9 months of referring a friend. ID said they would call 24 to 72 hours after I'd manage to get in touch on live chat but guess what no call. I'm getting kind of feed up now after all this time. Has anyone else had any joy receiving theirs.

Unfortunately I’ve had no luck at all. I’m now considering approaching the ombudsman. I wonder if anyone else has done this.

I've tried again with live chat and they said our request has now been reported to currys voucher team and they should send our vouchers via email but could take 48 to 72 hours but I'm not holding my breath.

Fingers crossed this time works. Or like you said contact ombudsman.

Hi!

I can’t believe that there are so many people that are having the same issue!

I look forward to seeing if you get a response or better still my vouchers on the email. 

If I don’t hear anything by next Monday im going to email the Martin Lewis website as that is where I got my recommendation from and I can see that they are still promoting the company.
