Hi there @Welch, I’m not sure that we at iD Mobile offer Three Wi-Fi, even though we use Three UK’s network. I’d recommend contacting Three directly to look into this, but it may be because we don’t offer the usage of this service.

Thanks,

Tyler

I use the London Underground and can connect the the available Wi-Fi network without issues. That's using my Nothing Phone 2 and IDMobile sim.

Hi @Welch sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. Does the data work in a different handset? Are you able to try this please?

I use the sim in the phone I recently got with the contract S25 FE. I also use the sim in my Samsung S25 Ultra and still the same thing

Awakening an old thread… Did anyone get this working with their ID Mobile sim?

Although 4G/5G is starting to become available in the tunnels, most of the time Wi-Fi at the stations is still the most viable option on a lot of tube lines.

Hi @tuberider,

Thank you for getting in touch.

We’re sorry for any confusion or inconvenience caused. Although 4G and 5G coverage is gradually becoming available in parts of the Underground, iD Mobile services do not generally work throughout underground tunnel areas at this time.

You may find that service works in certain stations or sections where mobile coverage has been introduced, but in many cases station Wi-Fi remains the more reliable option underground.

We appreciate this isn’t ideal and understand why you’d want more consistent coverage while travelling.

Regards,

Gemma

Yeah thanks @Gemma M but the question is whether TfL WiFi even works with ID Mobile SIMs in the way it does with SMARTY and other Three MVNOs. This thread is inconclusive in that regard

Hi @tuberider,

Thanks for sharing.

To clarify, iD Mobile SIMs don’t generally support the THREE_WIFI / TfL WiFi authentication in the same way some other Three-based providers do, so if you’re specifically asking whether your iD SIM should automatically connect to TfL WiFi at stations, that isn’t something we generally support.

Where available, iD Mobile instead supports connectivity through the growing 4G/5G mobile coverage rollout across parts of the Underground, which connects automatically through mobile signal rather than station WiFi.
