is PAC code facility down?

I have tried to get PAC code - it says there is a system fault. Is this likely?

Hi @Stevie2300

We have recently had an issue with our PAC code systems, apologies for any inconvenience caused with that, however we believe it should be all up and running again now, so PAC codes can be given/gotten.

You can also request a PAC code via logging into the iD Mobile app/website:

'We've encountered an issue processing your PAC request. This could be due to required maintenance or an unexpected system issue'

Speak to a live chat agent, they should be able to provide you with a PAC.

Hi, thanks for your help. I tried that twice, they can't help either.

What do you mean ‘they can't help’? What did they say?

Try again in 24 hours. I tried that 24 hours ago. So I'm raising a complaint then going to OfCom

If you want to raise a complaint then please see the following link for information on how to do just that:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/complaints-procedure

Otherwise, you need to go back on live chat and tell them that you have waited 24 hours but doing so didn’t resolve the issue.

Hi, thanks again for your help. I'm talking to them now.

Well, they still couldn't do it. But offered me £20 instead which I refused. I raised a complaint but I don't think they know what the issue us so they won't fix it. Anyway I'm going to have to go the long way round and change all my accounts that use this phone number for ID then change phone provider. Very frustrating.

I spoke to customer services and they gave me the PAC code... Or maybe not, the one I got over the phone is 9 numbers - isn't it meant to be alphanumeric?

BTW system still returning as down

So finally the upshot. They can't fix it so instead they have decided to cut me off and are terminating my contract. Unbelievable

It still isn't working. I keep reporting it but I suspect they're not really looking into it at all. Plus I have serious doubts about the help line - it's a script and/or AI.

Hi Tyler, I've talked to complaints on the phone and livechat 4 times. They aren't interested. So I'm just going to close the account.

You shouldn’t make multiple posts in different threads about the same issue, @Stevie2300, as it just causes confusion, which can cause delays when it comes to a fix.

@Natalie W, @Stevie2300 is referring to the same issue he posted about in this thread:

I didn't, 'Natalie' had already PM'd and we got as far as confirming ID. But the conversation never got any further. Then she posted a new request for a PM. Anyway thanks for trying, there are all sorts of issues with your customer service so I'll quietly give up now

'Natalie W' sent me a PM just before 10am to get the details to allow 'her' to look at my account and sort out the problem . The conversation then went quiet and I am still waiting for her to respond to me submitting the info on the PM 7 hours later. Is she going to continue the conversation or will I start all over again tomorrow? and if I do respond to her new PM will I get another telling off from Paul for 'starting a new thread' again?

Hi 'Tyler' just for clarification, I didn't PM anyone - it was Natalie who PM'd me from customer services. Then she went off the chat part way through with no explanation and never returned.

I didn’t give you a ‘telling off’, I merely gave you some advice as a fellow customer. :)

Hi Paul, oh I see, sorry. But what happened to Natalie part way through the PM? I'm intrigued now. I've pretty much given up trying to get the PAC but I really want to find out why it won't work, it seems a fairly simple piece of technology suggesting that either (a) the tech department doesn't know about my issue or (b) there is no issue and they're flummoxed (c) there is no tech department....
