Travelling to France next week and want to know that I will be able to use my phone to navigate

I am travelling to France next week and want to know that I will be able to use my phone to navigate. I am a solo mother to a 6 year old and therefore I want to ensure that my phone will work in France and that I will be able to drive without getting lost to where I need to get to in France. I am just a bit nervous about getting lost in France and I don’t speak good French.

I have an unlimited contract in The UK. Can I use all of my data in France & Spain?

I’m going to France & Spain 6th of August for 6 weeks to walk the Camino Le Puy. I have unlimited data and calls in the UK and want to know if I’ll get unlimited data in France & Spain? I’ve tried contacting chat support, but their replies are so vague, copied & pasted from somewhere. Can I or can I not use my unlimited data allowance for those 6 weeks? I’m thinking of buying an eSIM for the trip, but I don’t want to pay the extra money if I don’t need to.

'No Internet' when roaming in France - how to fix?

I have a current call plan and it shows that I have lots of data available, I’ve used 268Mb of 2Gb. I can make calls and send texts but I don’t have an internet conenction. If I search in Google for example it just says ‘No Internet’. I don’t have airplane mode on, I have tried with WiFi calling on and off, no help. I have ‘4G Calling’ set but only have a 3G signal (very strong though) here at the moment. I seem to remember a long time ago I needed to set the APN to something specific for data to work in France. It’s currently set to ‘three.co.uk’ but also offers ‘3hotspot’ and ‘ims’. Do I need to change APN? So, how can I get data working?

New user very confused by iDmobile texts whilst in France

Hello :) I’ve only been with iD for a handful of months, and I’m on day 2 of a holiday in France. I’m getting texts from iD that suggest I’m somehow racking up unexpected costs. I’m on 90Gb of data per month which I don’t get anywhere near consuming, roaming in EU is supposed to be at no additional cost provided calls/texts/data remain within the plan threshold. The texts say things like ‘please be aware that you’ve started using chargeable services whilst roaming. Any calls, texts, or data will not come out of your standard UK allowances and will cost between 30p and £15 per MB.’ or ‘you’ve now used 100% of your credit limit. To use any chargeable services you’ll need to log in to the iD mobile app’ I spent a really frustrating hour doing ‘live chat’ on day 1 of the holiday because the above was very worrying. I got cut off by the first agent after 25 minutes of plodding through questions like ‘confirm your mobile number’ with 5 minute waits between any acknowledgements. After 30 minu

using SIM in router whilst in France

I've been able to use my iD SIM (without any difficulty) in a router (Tenda) whilst on holiday in England but whilst on a skiing holiday in France last week the router failed to show any 'WiFi signal' meaning that I was unable to use as was possible in England. Any ideas, suggestions for an easy fix looking forward to future travel?!

    a month in France

I’m based in the UK and am on an ID mobile plane with 15GB / month and unlimited calls. As I’m going to France for a month holiday, do I need to change or upgrade my plan for it “comply” with being in France? I am I right in assuming that I’ll suffer horrible call and data charges using my mobile in another country ? Thanks in advance Pete

No data or calls connection while in France

We are in France. My daughter has a Poco C65 with ID SIM. We set everything up before our travels eg roaming activated etc yet still cannot connect to data network. Have tried new APN, network tools reset, manual network select but each time phone states it is disconnected from network. Also cannot make calls or texts unless tethered to another phones network connection. This is our second trip (last time in Easter) when we thought it was a handset update. That's all been completed with all apps updated too. Still no connectivity to ID network. Any recommendations please? Thanks.

Can I use my unlimited data in France & Spain

I’m going to France & Spain for 6 weeks in August. I have unlimited data in the UKI just want to know if I can use my unlimited data in France & Spain? Ive just spent 30 minutes in chat and she was so vague and kept contradicting herself. I couldn’t get an answer. I need data whilst I’m traveling, and may buy an additional eSIM if I can get a decent response from ID. All I want to know is can I use my unlimited data for the 6 weeks in France & Spain?

Prep your phone for a last-minute getaway.

Planning a last-minute getaway to somewhere fabulous? We totally understand. Even though the sun has finally made an appearance (fingers crossed), you can never fully trust the British weather! And if you want to make calls, send texts, and browse the web on your phone while abroad without returning to a massive bill — you’ll need to ensure your device is ready for roaming. Fortunately, we’ve got all the tips you need to dodge those roaming charges. What is roaming? Roaming is what your mobile phone will do when it goes outside of your network provider's coverage area (i.e. when you go abroad). It'll try and look for a foreign network to connect to so you can still make and receive calls, send messages, and access the internet just like when you use your phone at home. Roaming works because loads of providers from all over the world will have agreements in place to allow customers to use each other’s networks. But many foreign networks will apply roaming charges for using their service
