If you didn’t want them, there are things you can do to make them stop. We’ve got the info you need below, along with tips on how to avoid getting unwanted texts in the first place. What are premium rate text messages? Premium rate text messages (also known as reverse billed messages) are usually for some kind of subscription services. They’re sent from numbers with four, five or six digits, so they’re quite easy to spot. The bad news is that they cost about anywhere between £1.50 to £5 each, so you might end up with a higher than expected monthly mobile bill. While you need to sign up for these services, it’s surprisingly easy to subscribe accidentally by not ticking a box, replying to a message, or clicking on a pop-up. Often, you won’t be notified until you see the charges on your bill. To avoid unwanted charges, be cautious when entering competitions or signing up for services. Only share your phone number with trusted websites. Stay savvy and protect yourself! How can I stop u
Over the past couple of months my bill shows premium rate text messages every few days at around 5pm at a cost of £1.50 each time. Checking my “recent” telephone calls I have received no such texts. I have tried using the iD lookup for the short form number which is 78484 but this doesn’t give details of the company involved. This is costing me a great deal of money ….. how can I stop it?
Hi, I can’t access my online ID account since this morning. My phone doesnot work and I do not recieve any one time passcode. 2 days back I recieved an email that you successfully changed your email id , however, I have not requested a change of email and this email went into spam which I noticed today only. The customer service on chat couldn’t verify my details so they were unable to help me out. What shall i do to get my account back. We recieved a text saying your new sim activation in progress , however we have not requested a new sim and have not recieved it. Please help. Thanks
I reinstated my direct debit last month and recieved numerous texts through out the month saying I had done so which is annoying. I then get a text to say my direct debit had been cancelled and I must pay immediately! Annoying again. Paid it manually restarted the direct debit. Fast forward the next month I'm getting the same text repeated to me. So I'm now waiting for the direct debit to fail and do the same again as I can only assume history repeating itself. Any suggestions anyone will be greatly apprec iated.
Hello! I found out the amount I’m paying to ID Mobile Limited, is not recognizable! Started £19.99, now £23.77! I thought I’m paying off a mobile phone but it’s not! What is this payment? Can’t recognize! Help me, to contact someone who can tell me what is this payment!
I’ve received a text from three threatening to deactivate my phone if I don’t give them my bank details, is this a scam?
Phishing is a cyber-attack where criminals impersonate trusted sources, like banks or HMRC, to steal your personal or financial information or infect your device with malware. Spam refers to unwanted SMS or junk emails often sent with malicious intent. Both phishing and spam can occur through text, email, or phone calls. Remember, iD Mobile will neve r send an SMS with a short URL or ask you to make a payment through a link. We always provide secure payment options through the iD Mobile app or My Account online, where you can check for any outstanding payments. Why Does Phishing Exist? Phishing exists because it’s an easy and effective way for cybercriminals to steal valuable information and money. It requires minimal technical skill and can target thousands of people simultaneously by creating messages that appear legitimate and play on fear and urgency. The low cost and high reward make it an attractive method for scammers. Who Do Attackers Pretend to Be? Attackers often use the iden

Hi, no one really has a legitimate reason to call my mobile so it spends most of its time on silent so I’m not bombarded with constant email notifications etc. For the last couple of months now, once or twice a week, I’ll have a missed call from a mobile number. I call the number back, and the person on the other end has no idea who I am, and even claim they have no record of calling me. The people on the other end of the phone always sound like they’re from the UK (like me) and are always as 100% confused as me. I have had this same mobile number for the last 20+ years. So it’s not like I’ve inherited an old popular number. It’s only happened since I upgraded to my new Honor Magic 7 Pro, but I can’t see how the model of phone has anything to do with it. Does anyone have any theories on what could be happening? Once or twice an I’d put it down to a misdial, but it’s happening more and more frequently. I’m going to leave my phone off silent and try and catch the next one and grill them
Am not 3G, have the ID logo top of screen. No bars. Have tried all recommended fixes but nothing. Can’t find how to request replacement SIM on line. Chat box takes you round in circles. Live chat, agent came in, dropped out without anything, wait time increased to 41 mins then 221 mins. Curry’s not seem to offer ID SIM (only another brand). What to do?! thank you
I needed support from ID mobile to change my address but, the only way I could find to contact them was via the ID Mobile Community so I put a message on this site. I was contacted by someone from the community telling me to text my query to a number and they would be able to help me. I did that and that's when the scam started. A guy rang to say he could help. He took my details and said he would process the change of address. Then he rang back to say he was having a problem with my account and he needed to re-register me on their system with my new address. Then he rang again and said he needed to process a small charge to my account as security, which would be refunded within 48 hours. In order for him to assure me that they were genuine, he quoted my bank account number and sort code to me which I had given to ID Mobile. Because of that, I believed he was genuine. Later he rang and said he wanted to apologise for the inconvenience and wanted to send me a gift. The next day I receiv
I've not been able to make or receive calls or txt messages for the last 2 weeks. Done the upgrade but still nothing. Using Samsung galaxy phone.
Both my daughter and I use ID Mobile. I’ve had my account with ID Mobile for a long time (perhaps 10 years) and my number for over 20 years. My daughter has had her account and number for a little over a year. I receive very few scam phone calls and text message - perhaps 1 a year. My daughter is receiving approx. one every couple of days. Is there a way to prevent my daughter from receiving these messages (or at least reduce it)? Would changing her number help, and how is this done? Is there any reason why she would be receiving so many?
So the phone associated with this account is owned by me because I pay for it. But the phone is used by my daugther and we ensure that the phone is totally private to her, I have no access/oversight at all, just as it should be. I just upgraded the phone and kept the number. So the new phone was delivered to me and then I posted it to her. The exact moment, to the second, that she activated the new phone I received a txt on my own phone (on a my private number) from a new unknown number saying “Hi Dad this is my new number xx”, this was then followed up the next day with the request to pay her bills cos the new phone change over has blocked her bank account and could I pay until she sorted that and then she would repay me. The “xx” on the first txt tipped me off and I had already checked with my daugther and knew it was a scam BUT… How could someone know to the second that she had switched on the new phone?! I cannot believe it was a chance cooincidence, so where did that information c
i have a premium charge 61033 on my phone bill £1.50, i do not know what this is for can you please help
Hi, my phone's been hacked (deffo). It now says, 'Not registered on Network'. My email address has been hacked too, (password changed), both in order to deny access to complete a scam. My phone has been fine for many years, (Galaxy S20+), but now I cannot make nor receive calls & texts. (Internet: Whatsapp, Google, etc all fine). Done all the usual ‘fixes’, remove sim, turn off wifi, re-boot, etc. No joy. Please advise, Thank you.
I have just had a message telling me that my phone number will be deleted in 24 days. Help
Hi, A scam program has highlighted scams whereby the scammer ports your mobile number by fraudulently contacting your network provider and using stolen information to get your mobile number ported to a SIM card under their control This can then allow the scammers to receive codes sent over text messages, which many banks still do. How do ID Mobile protect customers from this? Thanks
I rang back a missed call which i now believe to be a scam phone number. Not sure what I should do. reguards Ian
