Keeping existing number
I registered my PAC code during the ordering process on a new phone, and the transfer date is today. I’ve put the new ID SIM in my new phone after I shut it down but not powered back on yet. Should I power on now (8:30am) or wait til a certain time or until I get some email that the transfer has taken place before I power up with the sim? I just got an SMS on my old phone with the number I’m transferring, so the transfer hasn’t taken place yet. I’m not sure what will happen if I power up before the transfer as presumably I could have a new number temporarily (not sure how that would work with billing etc).

500GB, unlimited calls, unlimited texts plan SIM with ID mobile BARELY working with 4G router
I have just purchased a 500GB, unlimited calls, unlimited texts plan with ID mobile with an iPhone 16 Pro. The sim works fine with the iPhone, getting around 100/120Mbps download on 5G. When I remove the sim and put it into my 4g router the data speeds become unbearably horrifically slow. We’re talking <1Mbps which is basically completely unusable. Does anyone have a fix for this or does ID mobile know why the speeds are being so drastically reduced when the sim is in the 4g router? Considering cancelling the whole plan if this can’t be rectified as with my previous provided (UW/EE) I could interchange between phone and 4G router with no drop in speeds whatsoever. Thank you

sim card problem
Hi Today I went to turn my data on and it said insert sim card. My sim card hasn't changed and has always been in. I went into sim manager to turn it off and on again but it's not letting me. I press confirm to turn it off but it stays showing as on, even though it's not registering. I have restarted my phone multiple times but no help. I have also tried installing the software update but it keeps giving me unknown error. It's a samsing s22

Dead tone when im on another call
Has anyone else had an issue when on a call and someone else tries to call. I have call waiting, so when on the phone, I’m alerted to someone calling. But the caller is getting a dead tone or even number out of service, so they try again and again thinking they are not connecting by my end it’s notifying me fine. I don’t have voicemail as I got fed up of getting a missed call, dailing voicemail for the message to say “give me a call”. So I turned it off. But even pressing the Send to voicemail button (Apple) the caller is not getting the busy tone. What on earth is happening.

I got cut off but now phonelines are closed
I am a vulnerable customer. I have been on the phone with ID for almost 2 hours today. The first agent gave me the complete wrong information. I was expecting a text message that never came. So I rang them again tonight. Again sent another hour on the phone. This Agent told me I was misinformed. She also told me there were no records of my previous call to them earlier today. She told me she was just about to put in a complaint in for me and put me on hold. But then we got cut off. I immediately ring the vulnerable customer phoneline again, only to be told that they are closed for the day. At no point was I warned of this, as a vulnerable customer. I was in the middle of cancelling the end of my contract. Will the agent continue to cancel the stop without me or will it now be completely cancelled tomorrow? The aim of today was to keep my old ID number, despite getting a new phone with ID. First I was told it was possible if I returned the new handset. I repeated it multiple times and she repeated it back to me. On the second call I was told this was not at all possible. This is just do not understand, as I am still staying with the same provider! How can I not be able to keep my own number from the same provider. We are in 2024. It seems ridiculous that this is not even an option. Apologies for the frustration.

I have a lot of issues here, I was presented by this deal of a fixed £5 a month I also capped the account at the same rate, why am I suddenly issued a bill of £10 a month? This offer was entirely misrepresented. What should I do? Are you aware this deal was misrepresented on your website. I am very confused. I would appreciate your advice and support. Thank you.

iD Community Phone Awards 2024!Blog
Forget the Oscars – it’s the iD Community Phone Awards that take centre stage! As we kick off 2025, let’s take a moment to look back at the standout phones of 2024. From the best camera to the most durable device, here are the smartphones that stole the show last year. Drum roll, please… Most improved – Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Sometimes the jump between an older version of a phone and the newest one isn’t what it could be. Luckily, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is one giant leap. Literally. There’s a massive 8” main screen here. It’s big enough to use different apps side-by-side and when you want to chill out with a film, you won’t be squinting to see what’s going on. Then there’s Circle to Search. Like that jumper your favourite influencer’s wearing? Draw a circle around it and you’ll be told which brand it’s from and where you can buy it. Oh, and it’s got their handy Gemini Ai assistant built right in too. Trying to draft an important work email? Gemini can handle that. Not sure what that menu says when you’re on your hols? Google’s Ai will tell you exactly what that dish you’ve got your eye on is. Bon appetit! Pick up the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold here . Best camera – iPhone 16 Pro. If you want to up your Insta game, you’ll need to snap up the iPhone 16 Pro. Apple’s latest makes it faster and easier to nail a picture-perfect shot. With Camera Control, you can access depth of field, zoom and other tools really quickly, all without having to faff about in a bunch of menus. Letting you focus on the important bits – like getting your hair right for that selfie. It’s not just photos that get the special treatment though. 4K 120 FPS Dolby Vision on the 48MP Fusion camera makes your clips and vlogs way crisper too. And they’ll sound as good as they look, with studio quality mics capturing every chat, laugh and terrible dad joke. After all, audio is 50% of the experience, and Apple aren’t cutting any corners here. Pick up the Apple iPhone 16 Pro here . Best battery – Samsung S24 Ultra. Plenty of smartphones use up a lot of juice quickly. And getting to the middle of the day and seeing your battery is already down to 50% is pretty naff. Samsung S24 Ultra to the rescue! This thing is rocking a huge 5000 mAh battery which means you’ll barely have to pause for a charge. That’ll cover a full day at the office, plus a long commute home. Very nice. Then when you do finally have to plug it in for a top up, you won’t be hanging about. It’ll be back to 50% in just 20 minutes. And if you can wait a tiny bit longer, you’ll have an 80% charge in about 37 minutes. That’s seriously speedy stuff. Pick up the Samsung S24 Ultra here . Best foldable – Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. Foldable phones are all the rage at the moment – and most brands are making their own version. But Motorola’s Razr 50 Ultra has a cool little trick up its sleeve. And that’s its 4” cover screen. This is exactly what it sounds like and means you can use all your apps while the phone is closed. Pretty cool, right? When you want to take it up a notch though, unfold the 6.9” OLED display and go BIG. Games and films will look way more epic on it, with bold, punchy colours and a 165 Hz refresh rate bringing it all to life. You won’t ever feel like your phone is chugging through stuff either. With a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor it’ll tackle any kind of app or game you throw at it. You’ll spend less time on loading screens and more time playing! Pick up the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra here. Best value – iPhone 16. We’re all feeling the pinch nowadays. So, when you do spend your hard-earned cash on a shiny new phone, you want to make sure you’re getting your moneys worth. Which is exactly what you get with the iPhone 16. Built around the A18 chip, it’s one super nippy device. It’ll help it last all day long and speed you through any kind of multitasking – whether that’s work related or the fun stuff. Plus, if you’re anything like us, and clumsy as can be, you’re in safe hands. The latest gen of Ceramic Shield on the front is twice as tough as any other smartphone glass. Phew. It’ll get even better as well. Apple Intelligence – their own special AI – is already built-in. But in December, there’ll be more helpful (and downright cool) updates coming to it. Sounds pretty Ai.wesome to us… Pick up the Apple iPhone 16 here . Got a phone you think we’ve missed? Give it a shoutout down below and tell us what you love about it!

European Crusie. Have I prepared correctly?
First post so be gentle….😉 My wife and I are going on a Western European cruise and I’ve spent a few many hours reading on here about other customers tales of woe. I’ve also spent some time reading the iD FAQ/help pages too. I think I’ve got my ducks in a row but maybe one of you out there could pass a glancing eye over this and spot something I’ve missed? In preparation for our upcoming cruise I’ve clicked on the iD Mobile App (with both eyes shut, all of my fingers and toes crossed whilst jumping backwards through a flaming hoop) to find, after losing count as to how many updates it’s been given in recent months, it worked (I know, you must be as shocked as me) Then via the iD Mobile App → Bills → Mange bill cap: set the bill cap to £0 and clicked save as I’m a cheapskate but also read of others getting an unwanted ‘surprise’. Also via the iD Mobile App→ Plan → Manage your iD services: turned International on turned Roaming on turned Premium off clicked save On both Samsung phones, Settings → Connections → NFC and contactless payments set to off (personal preference) Mobile networks →Data roaming set to off until we reach each European port Mobile networks → verified VoLTE is on (not important for this post query) Mobile networks → verified Network mode is showing LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) is set (again not important for this query but was worth checking) Network operators → turned off the default auto to manual and selected iD as I’ve read about a few ‘problems’, even one in the UK and then I’ll manually pick the strongest partnering network signal of: Orange or Movistar or Vodafone or Yoigo when in Spain MEO or NOS or Vodafone when in Portugal BYTEL or BOUYYGTEL or Free Mobile or Orange or SFR when in France Also prior to embarkation on the ship, we will grab the phone, go to Phone → Settings → Wi-Fi Calling set to off As the ship sails away from the UK slide both into airplane mode. Then assuming I can make and receive voice calls, use WhatsApp video calling, send the odd WhatsApp picture and check the weather forecast at the above destinations, when I get back to the UK reverse most of the above. As an aside note during last years Norwegian Fjords cruise using the ‘every little helps’ network it was very straight forward and very easy to use. Hoping this one does the same…. Thanks in advance for any clarification (And I might have written this a bit too late as we sail this Saturday🙄) edit. Sorry for spelling cruise wrong, I can see how to edit the title
