How to use the iD Community.F.A.Q.
Here’s everything you need to know about making the most of the iD Community. There’s a lot to dive into, but don’t worry—we’ll keep it quick and simple! How do I create a new topic? Thinking about starting a new topic? Before you dive in, use the search bar at the top of the page to check if someone’s already asked the same thing. If you’re sure it hasn’t been covered, go ahead and create your own! Here’s how: Desktop: Click the ‘Create a topic’ button, usually at the top right of the page. Mobile: Tap the ‘Pencil’ icon at the bottom right of your screen. Just make sure you’ve got a registered iD Community account and that you’re logged in before you get started! Decide if your topic is a question or a conversation. If you’re looking for help with a specific issue or have a question about something, choose the question option. But if you just want to start a general discussion or have a bit of a chat with other community members, go for the conversation option instead! Pick a title that’s clear and easy to search for. Keep it short but make sure it explains what your topic is about. A descriptive title helps other community members find your post more easily and quickly figure out if they can lend a hand. Explain your issue with as much detail as you can. The more info you give, the easier it is for other community members to help. Let them know what you’re trying to do and how far you’ve got so far. You can even add images or videos to make things crystal clear—scroll down this article to see how! Please note: Never post any private information (your phone number, email address, home address etc). Remember, this is a public community - anyone can see your posts and use this information against you. Make sure you choose the right category for your question or discussion. This helps other members find it easily and keeps the Community tidy and organised. Not sure which category to pick? No worries—just pop your topic in the ‘Ask a question’ category, and we’ll make sure it gets to the right place! Don’t forget to add tags that describe your topic with relevant keywords. Just like a clear title, this makes it easier for other community members to find your post and join in on the conversation. How do I edit my post? If you spot a mistake or want to add more info after publishing your post, don’t worry - you can still edit it! Here’s how: Go to the post you want to change. Click the three dots at the bottom right corner, then select ‘Edit’. Please note: You’ve got 60 minutes to make edits. If you need to remove private information from your post and are unable to do it yourself, please report the topic by clicking the three dots at the bottom right corner, then select ‘Report’. How do I report a post? If you come across a topic or comment that you think should be reported, or if you want personal information removed from your own post, here’s what you need to do: Go to the post you want to report. Click the three dots at the bottom right corner and select ‘Report’. Only report topics or comments if they involve: Spam. Advertising. Soliciting. Harassment. Private information (like email addresses or phone numbers). Any other content that doesn’t follow our T&Cs If you’re unsure whether something should be reported, it’s better to be safe and report it anyway. One of our moderators will review your report and take the necessary steps.
PAC Code fraud, how long do we have to wait?
Hi I recently became a victim of PAC fraud. I received a text message detailing my PAC code and I should pass this on to my new provider. I contacted ID mobile via the chat function and was told it was probably an error and to ignore it. Less than 24 hours later I received another text message informing me that my contract was now cancelled and my final balance is £411. Then my mobile phone went to emergency calls only an the only thing I have working is WhatsApp. I contacted ID an they told me my number had been taken and they would attempt to get it back. In the meantime the scammer has tried to access my bank accounts and tried to set up Paypal credit and Klarna credit using my number. Luckily I was able to block my accounts and I did not respond to the Paypal and Klarna requests for passwords or clicking any links. I am now 7 days without any signal on my phone and ID just keep telling me that they are working to get my number back from 3 mobile. When am I likely to get my number back and get reconnected? I use my mobile phone for work calls, I am the first point of contact for my elderly grandfathers careline if he has a fall and I am also waiting on some tests results from my doctor. I need my number back urgently. It is making me very anxious that I can not be contacted and a scammer is getting all of my voicemails. Has someone had this issue? How long did it take to get your number back?
