Your ultimate guide to streaming sport this summer!Blog
Sports fans are in for a treat this summer. It’s jam-packed with huge tournaments, races and more – and to celebrate, we're giving you the chance to win a HISENSE 55E6NTUK 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV! If you don’t want to miss a second of the non-stop action, we’re here to help. We’ll show you how to stream all the unmissable moments live on your iPhone or Android. And we’ll explain how to get your phone plan prepped, whether you’re watching at home or cheering from the sidelines abroad. Just follow this handy guide to catch every goal, match point and chequered flag without any nasty surprises on your mobile bill, and find out how to enter our incredible giveaway. Let’s get going… First things first: Get your data plan match fit. Streaming sport can use up a big chunk of your data. Meaning it’s a good idea to check your plan before kick-off to see how much data you’ve got to play with. Watching in standard definition can use up to 1GB per hour, while high definition will triple that, gobbling up a whopping 3GB or so every 60 minutes. If the football goes to extra time and pens, it’s safe to say you’ll be using a lot. So, if you’re planning on watching every single second, now’s the perfect time to think about upgrading. With a new plan, you might even be able to get more data for your money! Watching in the UK: Wimbledon & British GP. Most sport nowadays is locked behind a paywall. You don’t need an expensive subscription here though. You can catch two of the UK’s biggest sporting events for free on your phone… Wimbledon (June 30 – July 13) – Arguably the biggest grand slam in the tennis calendar, Wimbledon is always ace. And it’ll serve up some big hitting matchups, with world number one Jannik Sinner looking to bounce back from his final defeat at the French Open. But if Carlos Alcaraz – last year’s winner – has anything to say about it, we could be in for another titanic battle for the trophy. You can stream matches from each round live on BBC iPlayer. British Grand Prix (July 4 – July 6) – Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari hasn’t exactly gone to plan so far. With zero wins, and zero finishes on the podium, Lewis has a lot to do to climb the standings. Could home advantage at Silverstone help him take the top spot? Find out and watch the race live on the All 4 app. Roaming in Europe: Tour de France & Belgian GP. Jetting off to Europe? You can use your phone just like you do at home (in certain countries) with iD Mobile’s Roam Free service . You’ll have pretty much the same amount of minutes, texts and data from your regular plan (up to a 30GB fair usage limit), all available at no extra cost. Result. Tour de France (July 5 – July 27) – The world’s most gruelling cycle race pedals onto screens at the start of July. And you can see every sprint and lightning-fast descent on Eurosport and Discovery+. We’re just glad it’s not us doing those punishing hill climbs. Belgian Grand Prix (July 25 – July 27) – More motorsport. Yes please! The F1 hops over the channel with a trip to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit – the longest track on the current race calendar. To see all 44 laps, you’ll need a Sky Sports subscription (also accessible via Sky Go), or a NOW TV pass. Cheering on the Lionesses at the Euros? If you’ve been lucky enough to bag tickets to the footie over in Switzerland, we make it easy to stay connected. The land of skiing and top choc is one of our ‘ Roam Beyond ’ destinations. What’s that then? Well, depending on how long it takes for England to be crowned champions (or get knocked out in devastating fashion), you can buy a one day, five day, or ten day data add-on. Just make sure to sort this before you start using your data over there. Otherwise, you could be in for a big ol’ bill. Women’s Euros (July 2 – July 27) – Can Sarina Wiegman’s side make it back-to-back Euros titles? With a tough looking group (France and the Netherlands are no push overs) it’s not going to be an easy one. And with a serious turnover in the squad – we miss you already, Mary Earps – the team isn’t as experienced as it once was. You’ll be able to catch each match over on BBC iPlayer and ITVX. From managing your data at home to understanding roaming in France, Belgium and Switzerland, you should now be all set to stream this epic summer of sport. Before you head off though, double check your plan (can you upgrade?) and roaming options in the iD Mobile app . Giveaway time! Got a favourite team you'll be cheering on this summer? Whether you're following the football, dreaming of a Wimbledon win, or have your eyes glued to the Tour de France, we want to know who you're supporting! Tell us who you are supporting this summer in sport in the comments below for a chance to win a HISENSE 55E6NTUK 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV—perfect for watching all the action in stunning detail. The winner will be picked at random, so keep an eye on your inbox or DMs for a message from us. But hurry—the competition closes on 21st July at 23:59!

SIGNAL
Into the 3rd day now unable to make or receive calls plus data keeps dropping out so even unable to make calls or send messages via WhatsApp or basic text messages!!!!! I will be expecting a refund as under the consumer rights act 2015 a service provider must provide the contracted service with reasonable care and skill. I believe as we are now in the 3rd day I would argue that the service was not being carried out with reasonable skill and care if I'm still without any means of service!

My phone periodically is unable to make and receive calls
Without any notification my mobile randomly stops being able to make and receive calls (and text messages), and there is no indication that there is any issue. WhatsApp is fine and other wifi/data apps are ok it just seems that making and receiving calls can stop working. This is even with Wifi calling switched on. When I find out about the problem (i.e. someone contacts me via another method saying they tried to call me) I have to switch on airplane mode and then switch it back off, which seems to reconnect standard calls and messaging. There is no way to know that this is a problem so I could be missing calls etc and not know.

incurred roaming charges while on Norfolk ciast
I was out walking the Norfolk coast when message arrived saying I might be on a ship. Then I got two messages saying I’d used up 100% of my credit limit. I didn’t see these because I was chatting with my friends and walking. Checking my account I’ve been charged £25 which is my personal limit! But data roaming was turned off! There was a big ship right on the horizon. I don’t understand how this can have happened. I checked and found I’d been auto connected to Tampnet. I’ve now swapped to manual network. Can you please refund this amount.

'No Internet' when roaming in France - how to fix?
I have a current call plan and it shows that I have lots of data available, I’ve used 268Mb of 2Gb. I can make calls and send texts but I don’t have an internet conenction. If I search in Google for example it just says ‘No Internet’. I don’t have airplane mode on, I have tried with WiFi calling on and off, no help. I have ‘4G Calling’ set but only have a 3G signal (very strong though) here at the moment. I seem to remember a long time ago I needed to set the APN to something specific for data to work in France. It’s currently set to ‘three.co.uk’ but also offers ‘3hotspot’ and ‘ims’. Do I need to change APN? So, how can I get data working?

I topped up, but it is not showing in my account
How the title suggests I topped up my account today £15 for 20 gig of data and unlimited texting minutes and it’s not working. I can’t see it on my ID account but the money has come out of my bank. I’ve checked my bank statement and I can see the money come out of my bank, but it’s still not showing on my ID account please sort it

Urgent Help Needed - Upgrading/Plan Changes
I went onto the iD mobile website and purchased an iD mobile Pay Monthly SIM (Upgrade) from my current plan. However, when I placed my order I never received a confirmation email of my purchase or any updates of my plan change. This led me to head into the iD mobile app on my phone and went into Change My Plan which is where I was able to instantaneously upgrade to my new plan £12 a month (100GB, Unlimited Text/Calls). I am worried that I will be charged twice on my Direct Debit date when the time comes. What should I do?

When is the phone outage problem actually going to be fixed?
How often are ID Mobile users going to have to put up with “technical problems”? …are these problems ever actually going to be fixed? Sorry for the cynicism but I am pretty fed up with continually not being able to make or receive calls.

No outgoings or incoming calls and damn slow internet data
I have been facing problems with phone calls not working and my internet data becoming too slow, almost unusable. What the hell has happened? It seems that is tied to three network but why was there no notification about it? It hasn't resolved till now. My 4G or 5G speed has gone down by 90%. It is also difficult to reach human agent. What a life has become, chatting with the ROBO?

unable to make/receive calls
I have an issue as I cannot make/receive calls (I have a nothing phone 1) I am unsure what to do to fix this, It works if I use WhatsApp but not with the base calling service, I checked what would happen with a voice mail which I get a notification if someone calls and leaves a voice mail but that is the extent of it. This is not a major issue as of this moment as I can contact those I need via other routes however I would like to have this fixed sooner than later if possible, this has been going on for 3 days, I have waited incase it was just a general issue on your end. Thank you

Problems Upgrading to a New Monthly Plan
Hi, I have just upgraded my plan to the 100GB, Unlimited Texts/Calls (£12 a month) but on the website and mobile phone iD app, the plan has not changed to my new one. Is there a problem? Do I just have to wait for it to update? Will it update after my current monthly plan has ended?.

Still unable to make and receive calls
Since Wednesday I have been unable to make and receive normal phone calls. It only works once after I turn my phone off and on again, after this, I can no longer be contacted. This problem has been ongoing for quite a while now. I’m aware of the Three outage but many replies state that it has been resolved however I am STILL having problems. Before I receive the copy and paste messages, yes I have voLTE turned on. When will this issue be FULLY resolved for all.

Emergency calls only in certain areas
Hi All, I travel around the country for work. Noticed in the last few weeks that if I go to the west midlands or the north east my Samsung S21 completely loses signal and displays emergency calls only. Tried the suggested troubleshooting tips and reset network settings which didn't resolve. If I switch on airplane mode and switch it off again it connects with good signal and 5g for a minute or so and then drops off again. It stays like this until I've travelled out of the area and either restarted the phone or used the airplane mode toggled off and on. Does anyone have any experience of this? It was working fine before. Many thanks.
